That’s right, ladies and gentlemen. NASA is embarking on a new Moon mission. So all those people who thought NASA’s best days were behind it, why, they thought wrong. But to be realistic and honest here, this is an unmanned mission. That’s what happens when space shuttles have been retired and the Russians are troubleshooting rocket problems. And please, this isn’t a thinly veiled mission to search for Decepticons.

Pioneer Unveils New Elite BDP-53FD Blu-ray Player

Pioneer has unveiled a new Elite edition high-end 3D Blu-ray player at CEDIA today. The player is called the BDP-53FD. It can be hooked to the internet via Ethernet or an optional wireless adapter. Once connected the Blu-ray player can stream all sorts of content from Pandora, YouTube, and Netflix. The player supports 3D via HDMI 1.4a output and 1080p resolution. It can also upconvert SD content to 1080p HD as well.

Stunning Uncharted 3 Sand Art (video)

Sprint To Offer iPhone 5 With Unlimited Data?

We have been hearing more and more rumors over the last week that Sprint would be getting their hands on the new iPhone 5, when Apple announces it later this month.

Now according to a recent report by Bloomberg, Sprint will be offering the iPhone 5 with unlimited data, which could be a clever move as both AT&T and Verizon, who used to offer unlimited data changed their data plans recently.

Virgin Mobile Launches £10 Mobile Phone In The UK

UK mobile phone operator Virgin Mobile has launched a new budget friendly mobile phone in the UK, which will retail for just £10, don’t expect any high end specifications for that price though.

The device in an Alcatel One Touch and it features a two megapixel camera, and a microSD card slot that can take up to 8GB cards, it also comes with a built in Radio and MP3 player, plus WiFi.

Bose Launching New Chihuahua Ultra Small MP3 Speaker Dock?

Microsoft Cloud Goes Down

Earlier today Microsoft’s Cloud went down leaving its users without access for around 4 hours. The problem happened around 11:32 EDT according to emails received by the website Tech Crunch via their tips line.

The 4 hour outage affected Hotmail, Office 365 and Microsoft’s online cloud storage service Skydrive.

Super Small Folding Bike Concept

We have featured a number of folding bikes here on Geeky Gadgets over the years but this one created by designers Weiche Wu & Minhan Lin must have the smallest footprint of all when folded up.

Admittedly the concept doesn’t have the largest of wheels so you will need to be carefully if your streets have a few pot holes but for a super simple compact design it wins hands down.

Chrome Email Game Brings Fun To The Task Of Sorting Your Email

If you get a little bored sorting the never ending stream of emails in to your inbox, a new game has been developed to bring a little enjoyment back to the process.

The Email Game has been designed for Chrome and awards you with points for quick  filtering, deleting and replying to messages. Motorola Droid Bionic Gets Taken Apart

The Motorola Droid Bionic only went on sale in the US yesterday, as with any new gadget, the guys over at iFixit have managed to get their hands on the new Droid Bionic, and have decided to take it apart to see what was inside.

According to the iFixit guys, the Droid Bionic is one of the easier devices they have taken apart, and all you need is a Torx T5 screwdriver.

Sprint BlackBery Curve 9350 Delayed Until October

One of RIM’s latest smartphones, the BlackBerry Curve 9350 was due to go on sales with mobile operator Sprint in the US today, now it would appear that the handset has been delayed.

White Sony PS3 On Its Way To Europe And Australia

Waterstone’s To Launch eBook Reader In 2012

UK high street book retailer Waterstone’s has announced that the company is working on its own eBook reader which it intends to launch in 2012, and it would appear the companies move is inspired by the success of Barnes & Noble’s Nook eReader range.

Google Launches New Structured Programming Language, Dart

Google has today launched a new programming language called Dart for "structured web programming." Unfortunately there aren’t many technical details about the new Dart programming language as yet. Nikon To Launch Mirrorless Interchangeable Lens Camera This Year?

A number of manufacturers like Panasonic, Olympus and Sony are already producing mirrorless interchangeable lens cameras, and now according to a recent report Nikon are working on a new mirrorless camera, which is expected to launch before the end of the year.

Samsung Galaxy Y Headed To Vodafone UK

Smozzy Android App Allows Internet Access Without A Data Plan

Smozzy a new Android app let users who have a  T-Mobile unlimited messaging plan, browse the web without the need for a data plan. Sharp Aquos SH8298U 3D Android Smartphone Announced

Sharp has added another Android smartphone to its range with the launch of the Sharp Aquos SH8298U 3D, which is a glasses free 3D Android device powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

The Sharp Aquos SH8298U 3D features a 4.2 inch qHD glasses free 3D display with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels, and processing is provided by a 1.4GHz Snapdragon processor and it also comes with an Adreno 205 GPU.

Apple Granted Further Injunction Against Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 In Germany

A while back Apple was granted an injunction against Samsung on the Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet being imported and sold in Germany, Samsung has been appealing the decision, and it the latest court case Apple’s injunction has been upheld.

This is bad news for Samsung who have been attempting to get the injunction over turned, and now it looks like Samsung has exhausted its options with the Düsseldorf Regional Court, and will have to take its case to the high court in Germany.

BAE Systems Announces Body Wearable Antenna For Soldiers

BAE Systems just dropped us an email to tell us about their latest invention, a body wearable antenna which is designed to be used by soldiers and the military, and according to BAE it will transform the way soldiers communicate on the front line.

Samsung Galaxy Note Video Released

Samsung recently announced the new Samsung Galaxy note, which they describe as a cross between a smartphone and a tablet, and now Samsung has released a new video which gives us a good look at the Samsung Galaxy Note and some of its features.

Photos have appeared online of a new Android smartphone from LG, the LG Univa, which is reported to comes with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread and features a 3.5 inch HVGA multi-touch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 x 320.

Other rumored specifications on the LG Univa include an 800MHz processor, an Adreno 200 GPU and 512MB of RAM, plus a 1,500 mAh battery,have a look at the gallery below.

Pioneer Unveils New AirPlay Music Systems Complete With iOS Dock

This week Pioneer has announced the addition of two new Air-Play equipped iOS docking stations to its range of music systems in the form of the Pioneer X-SMC3-S Music Tap and X-SMC4-K Elite Music Tap.

Both devices are similar is specifications and fitted with 2.5 inch colour LCD screens and are DLNA Certified, 1.5 compliant devices allowing you to enjoy audio from your iOS, Android devices as well as tablets, Windows 7 computers to name a few, and are also Certified “Made for iPod iPhone”.

LG Optimus Black Headed To Sprint As LG Marquee

It looks like the LG Optimus Black, may be headed to Sprint, and will reportedly be called the LG Marquee, according to the guys over at Android Central, although the device specifications have yet to be confirmed by Sprint.

According to the report, the LG Marquee looks exactly like the Optimus Black, and if it turns out to be the same device, rebranded for Sprint it should come with the following specifications.

Teague Labs Cardboard Box And Teagueduino Video Game (video)

Teague Labs have created a fantastic video game using a cardboard box and one of their own products, a Teagueduino. The Teagueduino has been designed to provide an easier route for people wishing to use Arduino in projects.

Yesterday we heard that Microsoft will show of its first Windows 8 tablet next week at its annual conference, and now it would appear that the first Windows 8 tablet we will see is from Samsung.

According to a recent report, Microsoft will show off a reference model Windows 8 tablet next week, which has been manufactured by Samsung, although there are no details as yet on the specifications we might see.

Sprint has added another Android smartphone to its range with the launch of the Sprint Kyocera Milano, and it will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, it features a 3 inch QVGA display and a slide out QWERTY keyboard.

The Sprint Kyocera Milano  features a 3.2 megapixel camera, plus 512MB of RAM, and a microSD card slot, the handset comes bundled with a 2GB microSD card.

Google Maps For Android Updated With New Places Features

Google has today released a new update for their Android Google Maps application taking it to version 5.10.0 and adding two new Google Places features. HTML5 Google Music Beta For iOS Released (Video)

Google has released a HTML5 version of its Music Player Beta for Apple’s iOS devices, and the HTML5 based app works with the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, and you can try out the app by visiting music.google.com from the Safari browser on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad.

When you visit the URL, the app asks to store 25mb of data on your iOS device, and the video below shows the app in action, which was put together by the guys from 9 to 5 Mac.

Twitter Reaches 100 Million Users

Twitter has announced its latest milestone, the he site now has over 100 million users around the world, and more than 50 million users log in to Twitter every day, although 40 percent of Twitter’s active users sign in to read stuff rather than Tweet.

Twitter also announced that they  generate over five billion Tweets a month, and the site gets over 400 unique visitors each month, with half of the sites active users using mobile to sign in to the site.
