Apparently Bandai (of Gundam fame) adapted Robert A Heinlein’s classic Starship Troopers into a six-part anime miniseries titled Starship Troopers OVA. It aired in the 1980s but has generally been forgotten. A few episodes ar eon Youtube, however. In it, the ape suits in the novel were given serious Japanese mecha treatment. Now an otaku sculptor is rebuilding the suits based on the OVA. The larger of the two the T410 is equipped with a 10 inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1024 x 600 16:9 and powered by a 1GHz Cortex A8 processor. The smaller 8 inch T408 model is also equipped with a capacitive touch screen, and the same as the T410 is fitted with a front facing camera, Android 2.3, 802.11n wifi, and powered by the same 1GHz Cortex A8 processor. Yahoo Fires CEO Carol Bartz And Maybe Up For Sale? Its been revealed by an email written by Bartz and sent the the AllThingsD website. That Bartz was fired over the telephone, and communicated this to her employees via her last email, which can be viewed after the jump. In addition to the firing of its CEO, a Yahoo insider contacted the Wall Street Journal suggesting that Yahoo maybe "open to selling itself". Google South Korean Offices Raided By Korean Regulators Posted: 07 Sep 2011 02:15 AM PDT Google’s South Korean offices based in Seoul have today been raided by the Korean Fair Trade Commission. The exact reasons for the raid are still unknown at the moment but its thought they are linked to alleged antitrust violations. BMW Adds Steam Engine To Prototype 5 Series Posted: 06 Sep 2011 10:56 PM PDT BMW has added a small steam turbine engine to a prototype 5 series, and in attempt to improve fuel efficiency, and it looks like they have been able to increase the fuel efficiency of the vehicle by around 10 percent. The small steam turbine engine uses excess heat from the exhaust system, to boil a fluid and turn it into steam, the steam then powers the turbine, which then converts the power into electricity which is uses to power the vehicle as well as the petrol engine.
