Time Warner Offering Slingbox Rebates To Its Wideband Service Subscribers

Time Warner has today announced that it will help subscribers to its $99-a-month Wideband Internet service with rebates on purchases made by Wideband customers for the Slingbox set-top box.

Currently the Slingbox is available to purchase for $300 and Time Warner will offer a full rebate on the price as part of a promotion expected to start in September.  The move is thought to be in response to the legal battle between Viacom and Time Warner over the live streaming of content to the iPad application.

Logitech iPad Joystick

In addition to its new folding QWERTY iPad 2 keyboard and case, Logitech has also unveiled a new joystick designed for iPad gaming. The neat little joystick is equipped with a couple of suction cups which allow it to be positioned anywhere you require on an iPad screen, and should be able to be used with any touchscreen tablet device. Providing a thumb-stick style game controller you can use with just about any game with an on-screen joystick or d-pad.

Sony NEX-VG20 Handycam With Interchangeable E-Mount Lenses

Together with its other cameras Sony has announced today, Sony has also announced the VG10 replacement with the arrival of the new NEX-VG20 Handycam. As with the NEX-7 and NEX-5N cameras the VG20 has the ability to interchange its E-mount lenses.

The Sony NEX-VG20 Handycam is equipped with a 16.1 megapixels, Exmor APS HD CMOS together with manual controls to allow for creativity enabling you to tweak the shutter speed, aperture, white balance, and gain.

Nokia Launches Three New Smartphones Running Symbian Belle OS (video)

Even though Nokia has now partnered with Microsoft to roll out Windows Phone handsets. Nokia has today showed that its ties with the Symbian OS is still alive and well with the launch of three new Nokia smartphones, all running the latest Symbian Belle operating system. In the form of the Nokia 701, 700 and 600 smartphones.

The Symbian Belle operating system has been designed to provide smartphone users more flexibility to personalise their user experience on mobile devices, and will be available as a free update for all users of handsets currently running Symbian Anna. There are a couple of videos after the jump which introduce the new Symbian Belle operating system and some of its features.

Apple Wins EU Wide Ban On Samsung Galaxy S Series Smartphones

Apple has just chalked up a great win in their ongoing battle with Samsung by winning an injunction preventing Samsung to sell their Galaxy S Series smartphones within the EU. The new injunction has been granted by Rechtbank ‘s-Gravenhage, a Dutch court in the city of The Hague.

The court has issued a formally Europe-wide preliminary injunction against Samsung’s Galaxy S, Galaxy S II and Ace smartphones. Following on from a similar injunction granted by a German court a couple of weeks ago.

Windows Phone MarketPlace Now Accepting Mango App Submissions

This week the Windows Phone MarketPlace passed the 30,000 app milestone and opened up to accept Mango application submissions from developers. The opening of the MarketPlace doors for application submissions has happened on time and as Microsoft's Windows Phone Marketplace Senior Director Todd Brix explained it would back in July.

Microsoft is hoping to have new applications submitted processed and ready to added to the MarketPlace within a couple of days. Just in time for the new wave of Mango phones  that are expected to launch very soon.

Sony NEX-5N Officially Launched (video)

As well as the Sony NEX-7 and A65 Sony has also officially launched their new NEX-5N. The Sony NEX-5N is a slightly less powerful camera than the NEX-7 but its magnesium-alloy body and features still make it a formidable camera.

The NEX-5N is equipped with a 16.1 megapixel Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor, with a new sensitivity range boosted to ISO 25600, using the and the same Bionz image processor as the NEX-7. Watch a video of the new cameras officially launched today by Sony after the jump.

iPhone 5 Expected To Support Both GSM And CDMA Networks

The highly anticipated new Apple iPhone 5 is almost certainly expected to support both GSM And CDMA from a single phone according to new evidence. The dual-mode iPhone 5 has been rumoured before but now evidence has been discovered in the iPhones app usage log files.

An undisclosed  iOS developer has contacted and presented information and log files to the Tech Crunch website, supporting the dual-mode iPhone theory. The logs show data from a new Apple device, using the MNC/MCC codes from both Verizon and AT&T networks.

LG Scanner Mouse LSM-100 Announced

LG has today revealed an unique new mouse at the IFA 2011 that includes the functions of a scanner. The LG LSM-100 scanner mouse looks just like any other mouse on the market complete with mouse wheel and 5 buttons.

However under the exterior of this mouse lies a 300 dpi scanner. Simply press the scan button on the left side of the mouse and move the LSM-100 mouse over the document to be scanned. Once complete the mouse scanner with then save the scanned images as either a PNG, JPEG, TIFF, BMP, PDF, XLS or DOC file.

Twitter Gallery Feature Now Live

Twitter has launched its new Gallery feature which has been created to highlight the images users post throughout the Twitter site,  yFrog, TwitPic, Instagram and other image sharing services supported in Twitter’s details pane.

The Twitter Gallery feature automatically shows the 100 most recent images in your tweets in chronological order dating back to January 1st, 2010. Any images published before this date will not be shown. The new Twitter Gallery can be found within your Twitter Profile page.

Nikon Announces Rugged AW100, Four New Coolpix S Series And P7100 Compact Cameras

Nikon has week launched 6 new cameras to its range in the form of a rugged waterproof AW100, together with four new Coolpix S Series compact cameras :  S8200, S6200, S1200pj, S100 and finally the Coolpix P7100.

The Coolpix AW100, as well as being a little more rugged and waterproof, capable of being used underwater to a depth of 33 feet, is also equipped with a 16.0-megapixel CMOS with backside illumination (BSI) for improved picture quality even in challenging low-light conditions. The new Coolpix AW100 will be available in early September 2011 for around $379.95

Sony NEX-7 All-in-one Compact With Interchangeable Lens Officially Unveiled

As expected Sony has today officially launched their new NEX-7 all-in-one compact camera with interchangeable lens, the one used by Sony’s with its high-end Alpha a77 DSLR. The Sony NEX-7 is Micro Camera equipped with a 24.3 effective megapixels Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor and boasts the worlds fastest (0.02 sec) release time lag, combined with a quick responsive autofocus.

The NEX-7 is also equipped with a high-resolution XGA OLED Tru-Finder and built-in flash, and is capable of recording full HD movies with 50p/25p. There are also web options allowing you to capture directly as MP4 at 30 FPS at 1440 × 1080 or 64 0× 480 resolutions.

Sony A65 Entry Level DSLR Camera Unveiled

Sony has unveiled its new entry level A65 DSLR camera this morning which is a pared-down version of its A77 model. The Sony A65 is however fitted with a 24-megapixel Exmor CMOS sensor, and is capable of 10 frames per second shooting with continuous autofocus. With an ISO range stretching from ISO 100-16,000.

Its also equipped with a standard 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens and its AF system is a little more scaled down when compared to the A77 as you would expect. Its constructed from polycarbonate and incorporates a XGA OLED Tru-Finder featuring an 2359k dot (XGA) resolution screen on its rear.

Samsung N102 Netbook tipped to be Meego N100 on Windows 7

Samsung has a new netbook coming that is going to be almost just like the N100 that has been tipped in the past. The N100 is a machine that runs the MeeGo operating system. The N102 will have the same 10.1-inch screen and Intel N435 processor inside. The difference will be the OS.
