Sosia Foldable Furniture Piece Is A World Of Possibilities Posted: 06 Aug 2011 09:00 AM PDT Ever turned your blanket into a tent and lost yourself in another world of pure imagining? Childish, sure. But keep in mind, however, that such experience often color parts of our lives in a positive way. The Sosia can do just that and much more. While modular furniture is nothing new, Sosia from designer Emanuele Magini takes it to another level. That’s why it’s called a ‘piece’ in the title o this post rather than a chair or a bed. It does a lot and transforms a lot. (...) © Geeky Gadgets, 2011. | Permalink | Unauthorized duplication and or distribution of our content is strictly forbidden © Geeky Gadgets, 2011 |
99 Year Old Japanese Grandmother Loves Her Bomberman (Video) Posted: 06 Aug 2011 08:00 AM PDT Loves it so much in fact, she finishes a few games every other day. Her name’s Umeji Narisawa, a 99 year old grandmother who took up Famicon (better known elsewhere as Nes) a quarter century ago and has been at it ever since. Gotta hand it to the old folks, they don’t outgrow their diversions as much as the younger set do. This Gold Plated USB Drive Is Sure Hefty Posted: 06 Aug 2011 07:00 AM PDT Because it’s made of real gold. Not the drive itself, but the case. Might be a good investment though considering the financial state of the world at the moment. We live in dire times, friends. Not to encourage hoarding, but yeah, this is one USB that if preserved could become a family heirloom. Not sure if descendants would want to inherit a USB though, they might not want to find out what’s saved inside it. Scientist Creates New Type Of Combustion Engine (Video) Posted: 06 Aug 2011 06:41 AM PDT Seen below is the experimental Wave Disc Generator, a lightweight hybrid engine component invented by Dr. Norbert Muller from the University of Michigan. Thanks to a $2.5 million grant from the federal government Dr. Muller and his associates have been able to perfect the latest incarnation of a combustion device that woks by trapping air. Don’t worry; a more detailed explanation arrives after the jump.

Cool Your Seat With A Water-Cooled Cushion Posted: 06 Aug 2011 06:03 AM PDT Falling under the hallowed category of crazy Japanese gadgets only Japanese are likely to buy, pictured below is a pump powered bladder that works as a cooling cushion. There are just days when your bum is too hot seems to be the rationale behind this device. The water cooled cushion works like an additional layer to any car seat and can presumably withstand the rigors of being sat on for an extended period. Not sure if it could replace a conked out airconditioner but if it keeps soaking wet arm pits at bay (from the severe heat) then it must be good. Sony’s PS3 Games Offline Tomorrow Posted: 05 Aug 2011 05:36 PM PDT We thought it usually took years, maybe even decades for war veterans to start performing reenactments of their famous battles. Apparently things move along a lot faster in this day and age and Sony is more than ready to relive its darkest hour, as well as risk reminding their customer base of that time they almost had their credit card number stolen. Or totally had their credit card number stolen, depending on your knowledge of statistics and/or gambling disposition. Bastion Coming To PC August 16th, Soundtrack Now Available Posted: 05 Aug 2011 04:58 PM PDT It’s hard to imagine a more perfect indie story than that of Bastion, an RPG built around a few exceedingly clever mechanics and a whole lot of clever narration. Well, not that hard, as most successful indie RPGs don’t involve the former Editor in Chief of one of the biggest game reviewing website on the planet, nor a half dozen designers formerly of EA fame. What is actually harder to imagine is that a group of people so steeped in mainstream gaming culture can put out a product that’s so… unique.
