Maybe because USBs are so ubiquitous that people have just stopped designing out of the box. Anyway, seen below are 4GB USBs whose cases are fashioned after paperclips. It’s sensible for most work places as digital and paper files still coexist. A cool thing about them is they can be clipped onto other edges, whether it’s your neck tie or a business card.

Facebook will be moving into its new UK offices in January of next year, this comes four years after the company opened its first office in the UK, and Facebook will also be recruiting new staff to add to its already 70 strong UK based team.

The Best Buy Insignia TVs are available in a 32 inch model and a 42 inch model, the 32 inch model will retail for $499 and the 42 inch model for $699, and they come with TiVO powered interfaces and Chumby online widgets.

| iPhone 5 Launch October Not September? Posted: 01 Aug 2011 03:15 AM PDT We have been hearing a number of rumors over the last few weeks that the iPhone 5 would launch in September, first we heard it would launch on September the 5th, and then we heard that it would launch in the first two weeks of September. Now according to the guys over at All Things D, we will see the iPhone 5 launch at the start of October, this follows on from a recent Gizmodo report which said it would land at the end of September after they received some information from an AT&T employee.

| HTC Desire Android 2.3 Gingerbread Update Released Posted: 01 Aug 2011 03:05 AM PDT HTC announced earlier this month that they would release the Android 2.3 Gingerbread update for the original HTC Desire by the end of the month, good news if you have been waiting for it as HTC has now released Android 2.3 Gingerbread for the Desire. HTC have had removed a number of features, including the official Facebook app in order to get Android 2.3 Gingerbread running on the Desire, although this can still be downloaded from the Android Market.

| Posted: 01 Aug 2011 02:32 AM PDT We have featured a few of these camera themed USB drives before here at Geeky Gadgets, although this one looks like it might be easier to use than some of the previous ones as the USB connection is housed in the camera lens and not the actual camera which should mean it would be easier to hook up to a wide range of USB ports. The DSLR camera USB drive comes with 4GB of built in storage and it is compatible with both PCs and Macs, have a look at the photos of it below.

| Sony’s PS Vita Coming 28th October? Posted: 01 Aug 2011 01:31 AM PDT We know that Sony will release their latest handheld gaming console before Christmas, unfortunately Sony hasn’t announced an exact launch date, but now it looks like it may launch on the 28th of October, the last date we heard was the 4th of November. The guys over at IGN have received a copy of an avert from Blockbuster here in the UK which shows a launch date of the 28th of October although it does say to be confirmed on the advert.

| GooApple Chinese iPhone 4 Clone Runs Android (Video) Posted: 01 Aug 2011 01:22 AM PDT The latest iPhone 4 clone from china has the strange name of ‘GooApple’ we presume that is supposed to mean Google and Apple, as you can see from the photos below the GooApple phone is designed to look like an iPhone 4 but it is actually running Google’s Android OS. In the video below you will see that the GooApple phone is running Android 2.2 Froyo, but its user interface has been modified to make it look like Apple’s iOS.

| Apple Suppliers Foxconn To Replace Workers With 1 Million Robots Posted: 01 Aug 2011 01:01 AM PDT Foxconn the manufacturers who build a wide range of products for Apple, including the iPhone and iPod employs 1.2 million people in China has announced that they intend to replace some of their workers with robots. The company currently has over 10,000 robots, and have said that they will expand to over 300,000 robots next year and over 1 million robots within the next 3 years.

| MIDI Air Drums Created Using Arduino (Video) Posted: 01 Aug 2011 12:46 AM PDT We have featured quite a few different cool creations using Arduino here at Geeky Gadgets, the latest one is these cool MIDI air drums which were created using a MIDI device, 3 accelerometers, a light sensor, a USB hub, a pair of sandals and two hand rakes. These cool MIDI air drums were created by Maayan Migdal, have a look at the video of them in action below.

| Apple Wins Dispute Over iPods.com Domain Name Posted: 01 Aug 2011 12:22 AM PDT Back in May Apple filed a complaint with the WIPO (world Intellectual Property Organization) over the domain name ‘ipods.com’, and now it would appear that Apple will be getting their hands on the domain without having to pay they owner millions of dollars. The WIPO has ruled in favor of Apple and have ordered for the ipods.com domain name to be transferred to Apple, and we could see similar things happening in the future with other domain names.

| Posted: 01 Aug 2011 12:06 AM PDT We love anything to do with Lego here at Geeky Gadgets, especially if it is also related to Star Wars, here we have the Lego remote controlled R2-D2 which was built by Ickelpete for the Lego Space event at the National Space Centre in the UK. The level of details on this Lego R2-D2 is amazing, and we suspect this took a fair amount of time to build as well as a lot of Lego bricks.

| Google Buys 1,000 Patents From IBM Posted: 31 Jul 2011 11:33 PM PDT Google recently lost out to a consortium of companies, which included Apple in the recent sale of various Nortel Patents, Google originally offered around $900 million for the Nortel patents, which eventually sold for $4.5 billion. Now it would seem that Google has found to some patents to add to their arsenal, and have recently purchased over 1,030 patents form IBM, which cover a wide range of things including the fabrication and architecture of memory and micro processing chips, and much more, the purchase was originally uncovered by SEO by the Sea.

| Adobe Launches HTML5 Adobe Edge Tool Posted: 31 Jul 2011 11:15 PM PDT Adobe has launched a new tool for HTML5 called Adobe Edge, and the new software is designed to create animated web content using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. Many companies are moving away from using Adobe’s Flash software for creating content and instead moving to HTML5, so it makes sense for Adobe to release a tool which makes use of HTML5.

| Amazon Stop Android Apps Submissions In Germany Due To Apple Lawsuit Posted: 31 Jul 2011 11:04 PM PDT Apple hasn’t had much success with its lawsuit against Amazon in the US for the company using the term App Store, the last thing we heard was that the judge dealing with the case had denied Apple’s injunction in the US courts. It would appear that things may be a little different in Europe, as Amazon Germany has been forced to stop taking application submissions to its Amazon Appstore in Germany, due to the legal action being taken against Amazon in Germany by Apple.
