TomTom Now Provides Free Daily Map Changes to All Devices

TomTom has announced that it will be providing all of its 60 million portable navigation devices on the market with free daily map changes. The map updates will come via the TomTom Map Share community. Map Share allows the drivers to personalize maps on their own devices and then share and receive map changes from other users.

Google Now Activating 1 Million Android Devices Per Day

Earlier in June we heard that Google were activating over 900,00 Android devices per day, and now Google has shared some more figures at its Google I/O Developer conference.

Google are now activating more that 1 million Android devices each day, and there have now been a total of 400 million Android devices activated to date.

Google Glass Explorer Edition Eyewear Available For Developers To Pre-Order For $1500

Google Nexus 7 Tablet Hits The UK In July For £159

Google announced their new Android tablet yesterday, the Google Nexus 7 and we now have some details on the UK release date of Google’s new Android 4.1 Jelly Bean tablet.

The 8GB version of the Google Nexus 7 will be available in the UK for £159 from the middle of July whilst the 16GB version of the device will be available for £199 from the 27th of July.

UK Mobile Carriers Will Not Offer Nokia’s 808 PureView Smartphone

The Nokia 808 PureView is expected to go on sale in the UK and US shortly, although if you want one of these super camera smartphones then it looks like you will have to buy the SIM free versions.

As the various UK mobile carrier will not be offering the handset for a subsidized price on their networks here in the UK as a number of them have confirmed to Wired and Engadget.

Google Drops The Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ To $349

Along with the various announcements from Google yesterday, which included Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and the Google Nexus 7 tablet, Google also dropped the price of the SIM free Galaxy Nexus HSPA+.

The handset was originally available for $399, and now Google are selling the Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ handset for $349.99 direct from their Google Play Store.

Google+ For Android Smartphones And Tablets Gets Updated

UK SIM Free Samsung Galaxy Beam Starts Shipping Next Week

The Samsung Galaxy Beam was first announced back at MWC 2012 in February, it was due to go on sale in the UK this month, and now it looks like the SIM free version will start shipping next week, the device comes with a built in projector.

The Samsung Galaxy Beam features a 4 inch display with a resolution of 800 x 400 pixels, a 5 megapixel rear camera for video and photos and a front facing 1.3 megapixel camera for video chat, plus a built in video projector that can project images and video up to 50 inches.

Google Play Now Sells Movies, Magazines And TV Shows (videos)

Today Google’s online app store Google Play, has started selling movies, TV shows by episode, and magazines, in addition to the already availalbe apps, music, movie rentals, and books.

Until the new update Google Play users could only rent movies from the online store. But now Google Play will include movies and TV series from ABC Studios, NBC Universal, and Sony Pictures to name just a few. Watch the videos after the jump to see the new features.

Chrome For Android Comes Out Of Beta

Google Earth 7.0 Android App Update Adds New 3D Imagery (video)

Google Nexus 7 Tablet Took 4 Months To Design And Manufacture

Google has unveiled their first Android tablet, which they developed in conjunction with Asus, the Google Nexus 7 and now we get to find out some details about how the project between the two companies worked together to bring the device to market.

Run Android Apps On OS X With BlueStacks Android App Player

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean ROM Leaked

Yesterday Google announced the latest version of Android, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and now it would appear that the Android Jelly Bean ROM has been leaked for the GSM Galaxy Nexus.

The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean ROM is for the ‘takju’ variant of the GSM Galaxy Nexus that has support for Google Wallet, but it apparently also runs on the ‘yakju’ version which is the standard version of the GSM Galaxy Nexus.

Google Nexus 7 Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Tablet Gets Official

All we have been hearing about over the last few weeks is that Google would be launching their first Android tablet, it is now official and as the rumors suggested it is called the Google  Nexus 7, and will come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

The Google Nexus 7 is made by Asus, and it features a 7 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, processing is provided by a quad core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and it also features a 12 core GPU.
