Google’s Android Now On 52.5 Percent Of UK Smartphones Posted: 14 Jun 2012 02:27 AM PDT According to a recent report by Kantar Worldpanel, Google’s Android OS has become even more popular in the UK and now accounts for a 52.5 percent share of the UK smartphone market, this is for the12 week period to the 11th of May, and has increased from 48.3 percent for the same period the previous year. Android is also becoming more popular in Europe, and according to the report Android now has a 60 percent share of the smartphone market for the biggest five European countries, this has increased from 38.8 percent for the same period last year. Now Nokia has announced that they have agreed to sell Vertu to private equity group EQT VI, although they have not released any information on how much Vertu will be sold for.
