Georgia Tech Shows Off Shimi, A Musical Robot Companion (Video)

Georgia Tech has shown off a new musical robot companion called Shimi, he has been designed by Georgia Tech’s Center for Musical Technology, and he is designed to change the way we think and enjoy our music.

The first video below shows Shimi performing with a couple of friends, the second video explains how he works, he certainly is a cool little robot.

Zynga With Friends Cross-Platform Gaming Network Coming Soon

Zynga has announced that it’s working on a new cross-platform gaming network that will allow players on different devices to play against each other on some Zynga games. Robotic Quadrotors Perform Live At Cannes (Video)

Apple Granted Patent For Inductive Charging Dock

Inductive charging on smartphones is nothing new, and whilst not widespread yet, there have been a number of devices released which feature cable free charging.

It would appear that Apple has plans to use some sort of inductive charging in future versions of the iPhone, as they have just been granted a patent for an inductive charging dock, have a look at the photo below.

First Spotify Artist Apps Now Live

Today Spotify has made their first Artist Apps live for Quincy Jones, Tiƫsto, Rancid and Disturbed, which have been designed to make it easier for Spotify users to find and engage with their preferred artists.

iPhone Has Made Apple $150 Billion In Revenue According To Report

The iPhone has been a massive success for Apple, the company will unveil its sixth generation iPhone later this year which is expected to be called the iPhone 5, and we suspect Apple never thought that the device would become so popular when the original iPhone was launched back in 2007.

According to a recent report by research firm Strategy Analytics, Apple has generated around $150 billion in revenue with the iPhone since the first device launched in June of 2007.

SIM Free Sony Xperia Go Hits The UK July 2nd For £220

Sony announced the Xperia Go back in May, and now we have some details on when the SIM free version of the Sony Xperia Go will be available in the UK, the handset will go on sale on the 2nd of July and will retail for £219.97 including taxes.

The Xperia Go is designed to be a rugged smartphone, and it is waterproof and dust proof and conforms to the IP67 rating, it will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread at launch, although Sony have promised to update the device to Android 4,o in the near future.

New Apple Mountain Lion Security Feature Will Automatically Check For And Install OS X Security Updates

Qualcomm Announces Snapdragon SDK For Developers

There are two mane players in the smartphone processor market at the moment, NVIDIA and Qualcomm, NVIDIA already has their own SDK for developers and now Qualcomm has followed suit and announced the launch of the Snapdragon SDK for Android.

Qualcomm has said that the Snapdragon SDK for Android will allow developers to access next generation technology an features of their Snapdragon mobile processor through API’s, and the SDK will initially support Qualcomm’s Snapdragon S4 8960 processor.

Sprint Starts Shipping 32GB Samsung Galaxy S III

Samsung’s latest flagship Android smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S III has probably been the most popular smartphone launch for Samsung, this has led to delays of the device with a number of the mobile carriers in the US.

HP Releases webOS Community Edition For HP TouchPad

Asus Executive Says Google To Take On Amazon With Nexus 7 Tablet

Google are expected to unveil their first Android tablet later today, the device has been developed in partnership with Asus, and is rumored to be called the Google Asus Nexus 7.

Sony Xperia Neo L Appears At The FCC

EU Court Upholds Microsoft’s Antitrust Ruling, But Reduces Fine To $1.07 Billion

A European Court has finally ruled on Microsoft’s appeal relating to the EU Antitrust ruling from 2008, and the court has decided that the ruling against Microsoft is to be upheld.

Microsoft were originally fined 899 million Euros, the European court has now decided to reduce the fine which Microsoft has to pay to 860 million Euros, at today’s exchange rate this works out at around $1.07 billion US dollars.

DC Comics Arrive On Nook Color And Tablets

Barnes & Noble has today announced that DC Comics are now available on their Nook Color and Tablets, with Nook Zoom view support. Joining the already available Marvel Comic collection.

TV Shows And Magazines Headed To Google Play?

Lenovo ThinkPad Tablets Receive Android 4.0 Update

Instagram For Android Gets Updated

Yesterday the Instagram team released a new version of their popular photo sharing app for Apple’s iOS, and they have now also released a new version of Instagram for Android, which adds a range of new feature to the app.

As well as a number of bug fixes, the new Instagram app for Android now with deeper Facebook integration, you can now easily share any Instagram photos with your Facebook friends, the option is optional and can be turned on by going to Profile > Settings > Sharing settings > Facebook within the app.

Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Mascot Arrives On Google’s Lawn

Google’s I/O developer conference kicks off later today, one of the announcement we are expecting from Google is a new version of their mobile OS, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

As with every release of a new version of Android, Google places a new Android mascot on their lawn, and yesterday they put up a new one, which as you can see from the photos is clearly for Android Jelly Bean.

Polaroid Z2300 Instant Digital Camera Unveiled

Polaroid has this week unveiled a new addition to its line of instant cameras, showcasing their new Polaroid Z2300 camera at the 2012 CEA Line Show in New York City.

The Polaroid Z2300 is equipped with an integrated printer that uses inkless Zink technology, requiring no expensive and messy ink cartridges to print out photographs. However the required special printer paper does make up for the expenses of cartridges somewhat.

BBM For BlackBerry 10 Photos Leaked

It looks like we may have some images of what BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) will look like on RIM’s new OS, BlackBerry 10 thanks to the guys over at N4BB.

According to the buys over at N4BB the new BBM for BlackBerry 10 will offer different themes which are designed to improve battery life on your BlackBerry device, with battery consumption reduced by up to 25 percent on a standard device and up to 75 percent on an OLED display device.

Pioneer SMA Wireless Speakers Support Airplay And HTC Connect

Pioneer has announced the launch of a new range of wireless speakers to its range in the form of the SMA Series, which includes three different wireless speaker systems, the XW-SMA1, XW-SMA3 and XW-SMA4.

Nintendo Says Wii U Price Will Be Reasonable

Nintendo have yet to announce any official pricing for their new Wii U console, which will go on sale later this year, although Nintendo’s CEO Satoru Iwata has said that the pricing of the console will be reasonable.

The Nintendo CEO recently gave an interview to a newspaper in Japan, the Yomiuri Shimbun daily newspaper, he said that the Wii U will be available at a ‘reasonable’ price and ‘ We won't make the same mistake we that we did with the 3DS, which was considered relatively high [priced] by consumers’.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Banned In The US After Court Ruling

Apple and Samsung have been engaged in a number of court cases around the world, last week a court in the Netherlands ordered Apple to pay Samsung damages after Apple’s iPhone and iPad were found to infringe on one of Samsung’s 3G patents.

Now it is Samsungs turn as a US court has decided to ban sales of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 in the US, the decision was handed down by US district judge Lucy Koh, who had the following to say about Samsung’s tablet.
