When I was growing up my mother was always losing her car keys. We bought her one of those key chains that would beep when you clapped to help her find the keys so we weren’t constantly late to school. A new gadget has surfaced called The Gadget Hound and it reminds me of a modernized version of a key chain.

CBS and Hulu Announce Content Licensing Agreement

Good news for subscribers to Hulu Plus with CBS and Hulu announcing a non-exclusive multi-year licensing agreement that will bring streaming CBS programming to Hulu Plus. Neither party is disclosing the terms of the deal, but CBS content is expected to start appearing on Hulu Plus in January of 2013.

Samsung donates $3 million to help Hurricane Sandy victims

Samsung wants you to know that they aren’t a faceless and uncaring company, so they have done a good deed and are lending a hand to all victims affected by Hurricane Sandy. The company announced that it will be donating $3 million to help the East Coast communities affected by the storm.

Serene Stylus Engineered For Precision Hits Kickstarter (video)

A new stylus has landed on Kickstarter looking to make the jump from concept into production, called the Serene Stylus. The Serene Stylus has been engineered to provide users with a much smaller nib than most styluses on the market, and is designed more like a technical pen rather than a touchscreen stylus.

Sony Xperia V Release Delayed

Sony has delayed the launch of their Xperia V smartphone, the handset was due to launch in Europe before the end of the year and was going to come with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Sony has now decided to delay the release of the Xperia J, the device will now come with the newer, Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean, and Sony has also decided to drop the price of the handset.

RISC OS Released For Raspberry Pi

Owners of the $35 Raspberry Pi mini computer might be pleased to learn that the Raspberry Pi Foundation has today announced the availability of RISC OS for the Raspberry Pi.

Originally RISC OS was released back in 1987 as Arthur 1.20 designed for ARM architecture systems, and developed by Acorn Computers for use with their 1987 range of Archimedes computers, equipped with the RISC Machine CPU.

Windows 8 Running On Original Microsoft 40 Inch Surface Coffee Table (video)

Anyone who wondered what Microsoft’s new Windows 8 operating system would look like on the original touchscreen Surface devices released by Microsoft long before their tablet devices where announced, will be interested in the video after the break.

Microsoft’s original surface touchscreen devices was a massive 40 inch display running a bespoke version of Windows 7. Now YouTube user “slymick” has loaded Windows 8 on to an old style Surface and created a quick demonstration video showing it in action, check it out after the break.

Sharp Aquos Phone SH930W With 5 Inch 1080p Display Launched In Russia

Sharp has launched a new Android smartphone in Russia, the Sharp Aquos Phone SH930W which features a 5 inch Full HD display and uses one of Sharp’s IGZO displays which comes with a pixel density of 440ppi.

The Sharp Aquos Phone SH930W features Android 4.1 Jelly bean and a Snapdragon 1.5GHz processor plus an Adreno 225 GPU, there is also 2G and 3G but no 4G LTE.

Apple Lawsuit Against Motorola Dismissed By Judge

Apple has be suing Google’s Motorola Mobility with regard to apparent patent infringements relating to Google’s Android OS and Motorola’s smartphones, and now the judge dealing with the case has thrown it out of court.

The two companies were scheduled to go to court today over a range of different patents, but the judge dealing with the case has dismissed the case.

Microsoft’s Cloud TV Platform Revealed

It would appear that Microsoft has plans for a new ‘Cloud TV’ platform, the details have been revealed in a Microsoft job listing, with the job listing mentioning a Cloud TV Team at Microsoft.

The job listing also says that applicants will get in on the ground floor of an ambitious new project, obviously Microsoft has yet to announce anything about a new Cloud TV platform.

LogMeIn Cubby Cloud Storage Service Enters Open Beta

Back in July 2012 LogMeIn, who is more widely known for its remote control applications, announced that they were creating a cloud storage service called Cubby. Well their new service has now entered its open beta development stage.

Verizon Wireless Shutting Its App Store In 2013

RIM’s BlackBerry 10 To feature New Icons

Amazon Prime Launches $7.99 Monthly Subscription Plan

This month Amazon has started testing a new monthly subscription to its Prime members service, as an alternative to the $79 a year cost. The new monthly subscription of just $7.99 now makes Amazon more competitive to the likes of Netflix and Hulu who also offer monthly subscriptions.

However the new monthly subscription plan does cost an additional $16.88 when compared to paying up front for a full year of the Prime service.

Microsoft Surface Costs Around $284 To Manufacture

Microsoft recently launched their first tablet, the Microsoft surface, and now we have some details on how much it costs Microsoft to build each of of their Surface devices and also how much they make on each tablet.

According to a recent report by IHS Suppli, it costs Microsoft around $271 in parts to make one of their surface tablets, and then around $13 to manufacture it, giving the device a total of $284 to make.

Samsung Releases Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Open Source Files For Multiple Devices

Samsung has released some new open source Android files for some of its devices, the files ate for Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, and they apply to a number of devices.

Nikon D5200 DSLR Gets Official

Nikon has added another DSLR to their range with the launch of the Nikon D5200, which features a 24.1 megapixel CMOS sensor and an EXPEED 3 processor, it is capable of 5fps continuous shooting and has an ISO range of 100-6400.

The Nikon D5200 features the same 39 point auto-focus system that can be found in the more expensive D7000, and it also comes with the same 2,016 RGB metering sensor as the D7000.

Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean For Samsung Galaxy Note Leaked (Video)

The guys over at Sammobile have managed to get their hands on a leaked Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update for the original Samsung Galaxy Note smartphone, and the update is apparently being tested by Samsung at the moment and comes with some new features.

According to the report, the update may be released as version 4.1.1 or Samsung may update it to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean before it is pushed to the Galaxy Note, and they may also released Android 4.1.2 for the original Galaxy S II at the same time.

Outlast FPS Horror Game Trailer And Details Released (video)

Google Could Be Subsidizing Its New Google Nexus 4 Smartphone

Google recently launched their new Google Nexus 4 smartphone, the device is made by LG and Google are selling it from their Google Play store for 299 Euros for the 8GB model and 349 Euros for the 16GB model.

According to a recent report by The Next Web, Google may actually be subsidizing the price of the handset when it is sold direct through Google Play, as one Spanish retailer has been given a different price by LG for the handset.

Belkin Unveils New Apple Lightning Connector Accessories

iPhone 5 US Unlocked Pricing Appears On Apple’s Website

When Apple launched the iPhone 5 in the US, the handset was available direct from Apple with the various mobile carriers, and now it looks like Apple will shortly be selling the unlocked version of the iPhone 5.

If you search Apple’s website for “iPhone 5 factory unlocked”, it shows the pricing of the devices with the 16GB model retailing for $649, the 32GB model for $749 and the 64GB model for $849, as you can see in the photo below.

Olimex has unveiled a new addition to their range this week in the form of the OLinuXino A13 mini PC, which is a single board computer offering a variety of ports and a processor more powerful than the Raspberry Pi.

The great thing about the the new OLinuXino A13 mini PC is that its developers say both its hardware and software are open source, allows developers to create and sell devices based on the OLinuXino A13.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 Coming To AT&T November 9th

US mobile carrier AT&T has announced that they will be offering the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 on their network from the 9th of November 2012, the tablet will retail for $499.99 on AT&T and it comes with 4G LTE.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 10.1 features a 10.1 inch display and it comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and features a 7,000 mAh battery, and a dual core 1.5GHz processor.

Samsung Ativ Smart PC Windows 8 Tablet Arriving On AT&T November 9th

Samsung has today announced that their new Samsung Ativ Smart PC tablet will be arriving with AT&T both in stores and online on November 9th, offering 4G LTE connectivity.

The new Samsung Ativ Smart PC is equipped with a 11 inch PLS display sporting a resolution of 1366 x 768, and is powered by a 1.5 GHz Intel Atom Z2760 Clover Trail processor, supported by 2GB of RAM.

We have already seen a few videos for Rovio Mobile’s latest Angry Birds game, Angry Birds Star Wars, and now Rovio has released another trailer which gives us a look at what the gameplay will be like.

LG Optimus Regard For Cricket Wireless Leaked

It looks like LG and Cricket Wireless are about to launch a new smartphone, the LG Optimus Regard, which according to Cricketusers is Cricket’s first 4G LTE smartphone.

The following photo was posted to Twitter by @eveaks, and the device is rumored to feature a display with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels and will come with a 1.5GHz processor.

HTC Droid DNA Appears At The FCC

Yesterday we saw a leaked photo of the new HTC Droid DNA which is headed to Verizon Wireless, and now the device has appeared at the FCC, which should mean that Verizon will be launching the handset shortly.

The HTC Droid DNA is Verizon's version of the HTC J Butterfly and the handset is expected to to come with the same specifications as the HTC J Butterfly.

Facebook iOS App Updated With Multiple Photo Sharing And More

Facebook has today rolled out a new update to its main iOS application, which brings with it a number of features which have already been seen in other Facebook standalone applications.

Facebook now seems to be integrating popular features from its standalone apps into its main iOS application, and has added the ability to swipe left anywhere in the application, to view your friends and contacts who are available to receive messages.
