T-Mobile Rolling Out Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean To the Samsung Galaxy S III

If you own the Samsung Galaxy S3 on T-Mobile's network, we have some good news for you. It looks like T-Mobile is finally pushing out the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update! This is music to our ears since a Samsung spokesperson was quoted as saying that Jelly Bean updates for the US-based Galaxy S3 smartphones would only arrive in 2013. Not sure what happened, but we are just glad to hear it.

CyanogenMod 10 Stable Builds Released

If you have been patiently waiting for the release of the CyanogenMod 10, you willl be pleased to learn that after numerous nightly and monthly builds, a stable version is now ready and has been released.

Security hole lets hackers claim ownership of your Skype account using email address

Skype users need to pay attention to this story and take precautions. Russian hackers found out that anyone can hack a user's Skype account by using the email address tied to that account. When a person knows the email address of a Skype user, they can use that email address to create a new Skype account.

Miniand MK803 Android Mini PC, Launches With Linux Downloads Arriving Soon

Projecteo Tiny Instagram Projector Lands On Kickstarter (video)

Mint Digital the creators of the Foldable.Me characters you can create and which we featured here on Geeky Gadgets back in October. Have today launched a new Kickstarter campaign for their latest creation a tiny Instagram project, called Projecteo.

Xiaomi $64 Android Streaming HDTV Box Unveiled

Xiaom has taken the wraps off a new set-top-box they have developed to compete with the likes of Apple and Google TV. The new Xiaom Box runs a MIUI version of Android and promises wireless streaming from your Android phone or tablet, iPhone, iPad, PC, or Mac.

The newly launched Xiaom Box will provide users with access to over 30,000 movies and TV shows, and will also support photo streaming as well as the video, and will soon have a video app for Android and iOS that will let phones serve as a remote.

Elliptic Labs Windows 8 Touchless Gesture Control Unveiled (video)

Elliptic Labs has developed a new touchless gesture control system for Microsoft’s latest Windows 8 operating system, which has been designed to enable users to take advantage of natural gesturing to navigate Windows 8.

The new system unveiled by Elliptic Labs uses ultrasonic touchless technology, and uses up to 95% less power than existing camera image-based gestural systems which are currently on the market, says Elliptic Labs. Google Confirms Adobe Flash Is “Fully Sandboxed” In Its Chrome Browser

Adobe Flash Player has received extra attention from Google within its Chrome browser, and has now been “fully sandboxed” within Google’s browser across Windows, Mac, Linux and Chrome OS platforms.

PocketBook Launching 8 Inch Colour E-Ink eReader In 2013

PocketBook has announced this week that they will be launching a new edition to their range of eReaders in June 2013, in the form of an 8 inch device which will, be equipped with a 800 x 600 resolution screen capable of displaying 4096 colours.

The PocketBook eReader will also be equipped with a front lit screen and a capacitive touchscreen, together with Wi-Fi connectivity. However exact specifications for the new device are still being kept under wraps by PocketBook at the current time.

Sprint To Expand 4G LTE Network To 9 More Cities

US mobile carrier Sprint has announced that it is expanding its 4G LTE network in the US to nine more cities, the nine cities will get Sprint’s 4G LTE rolled out to them over the next few months.

Google Says More Nexus 4 Smartphones Will be Available In The Coming Weeks

Earlier today we heard that Google had sold out of their new Nexus 4 smartphone as well as their new Nexus 10 tablet on the Google Play Store, and now Google has said that they will have more stock of all their new Nexus devices in the coming weeks.

BlackBerry 10 L-Series Poses For The Camera Again

RIM recently announced that they would be launching their new BlackBerry 10 OS on the 30th of January 2013, and we heard earlier today that RIM is expecting to launch their new BB10 devices shortly after the release of the OS.

Samsung Galaxy Axiom For US Cellular Leaked

It would appear that US mobile carrier US Cellular is getting a version of Samsung’s recently announced Galaxy Mini smartphone, the device will be called the Samsung Galaxy Axiom  and shares similar specifications to the Galaxy Mini.

Microsoft Surface Tablet Gets Software Updates

BlackBerry 10 Smartphones To Launch Shortly After January 30th

Yesterday RIM announced that they would officially launch the next version of their mobile OS, BlackBerry 10 on the 30th of January 2013, they also announced that there would be two new BlackBerry 10 smartphones launching in early 2013.

HTC Droid DNA Gets Official

We have seen lots of leaked photos of the new HTC Droid DNA over the last few weeks, and now HTC and Verizon have made the device official and we have full details on this new HTC Android smartphone for Verizon Wireless.

Google Nexus 10 And Nexus 4 Now Sold Out In Google Play Store

Yesterday Google launched their latest Android devices, which included the new Nexus 4 smartphone and the Nexus 10 tablet, both devices seemed to sell out pretty quickly, although Google listed the devices as coming soon.

It looked like Google made more of each device available throughout the day, although the seemed to sell out pretty quickly, some people were able to still order the device.

No Android 4.2 Jelly Bean For The Motorola Xoom And Nexus S

Now that Google has launched Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, many owners of devices will be wondering if their device will be getting the Android 4.2 update, and it would appear that there are two devices that unfortunately will not get the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update.

Google recently posted the source code of Android 4.2 Jelly Bean to AOSP, and also revealed some information about the Motorola Xoom tablet and the Nexus S smartphone with regards to Android 4.2, which you can see below.

ZTE Flash For Sprint Gets Official

Last week we saw some leaked photos of a new Android smartphone that is headed to US mobile carrier Sprint, the ZTE Flash, the handset is now official and we have the full specifications on the new Sprint ZTE Flash.

The ZTE Flash features a 4.5 inch HD display and comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, the device is powered by a dual core 1.5GHz processor, and comes with 4G LTE.

Internet Explorer 10 Preview For Windows 7 Now Available

Google Releases Android 4.2 Jelly Bean SDK

Google’s latest Android devices, which come with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean were released yesterday, the list includes the new Google Nexus 4 smartphone, the Google Nexus 10 tablet and the updated Google Nexus 7 tablet.

T-Mobile To Sell Nexus 4 Off Contract For $499

Yesterday Google launched their latest Android smartphone, the Google Nexus 4, and the 16GB version of the device retails for $349.99 direct from Google, it is also headed to various mobile carriers in the US.

One of those is T-Mobile who will offer the Google Nexus 4 both on contract and off contract, if you purchase the device with a two year contract, the handset will set you back $199.

Droid RAZR M Gets Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update

On Monday we heard that Motorola had finished the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update for the Droid RAZR M smartphone on Verizon Wieless, and that the update was being tested on certain devices.

Now it would appear that Verizon has started rolling out the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update to the Droid RAZR M, as a number of owners of the device have reported receiving the update.

BlackBerry Messenger In BlackBerry 10 To Offer Voice Over WiFi

RIM recently announced that they would launch the latest version of their mobile OS, BlackBerry 10 on the 30th of January 2012, and they have now released some more details on some of the features that will be available in BlackBerry 10.

One of those is a new version of BlackBerry Messenger (BBM), which will come with an interesting feature, free WiFi calling between BBM users, you will be able to instantly talk with your friends over BBM over WiFi with BBM Voice.
