| Nikon Signs Android Patent Agreement With Microsoft Posted: 22 Feb 2013 03:26 AM PST Microsoft has announced that Nikon has signed a patent agreement with Microsoft, relating to Google’s Android OS, the patents are related to Android being used on Nikon’s cameras. Nikon joins a host of other companies who have signed patent deals with Microsoft, as Microsoft owns a number of patents which are apparently used by Google’s Android OS.

| Sony Xperia Z Now Available In Europe Posted: 22 Feb 2013 03:13 AM PST Sony recently announced their new flagship Android smartphone, the Sony Xperia Z, and the device is now available in some European countries which include the UK, Germany and Russia. The Sony Xperia Z comes with a 5 inch full HD display with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution, the handset features Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, although it could possibly get an Android 4.2 update next month.

| Orange Announces First 4G Smartphone And More Posted: 22 Feb 2013 03:03 AM PST Orange has announced three new Orange branded smartphones, which include the company’s first 4G smartphone, which is called the Orange Lumo, the other two devices are called the Orange Nivo and the orange San Remo. The Orange Lumo features a 4.5 inch display and comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, plus an 8 megapixel camera and 4G LTE, the Orange San Remo comes with a 4.7 inch display, an 8 megapixel camera and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

| Pantech Perception For Verizon Appears At The FCC Posted: 22 Feb 2013 02:47 AM PST The Pantech Perception which is headed to US mobile carrier Verizon Wireless was leaked back in January, Verizon have yet to officially anno0unce the device, although it has now appeared at the FCC which would indicate that the device should be launching soon. The Pantech Perception is rumored to feature a 4.8 inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 768 pixels, the handset will come with 4G LTE and is also rumored to feature a quad core processor.

| Archos 80 Titanium Android Tablet Headed To The UK Posted: 22 Feb 2013 02:25 AM PST Archose announced a number of new Android tablets at CES in January, and now they have announced that the Archos 80 Titanium is headed to the UK, and the device will be sold through UK retailer the Carphone warehouse. The Archos 80 Titanium will be available in 8GB and 16GB models, and the 16GB model will be exclusive to the Carphone Warehouse, the 8GB model will retail for 129 and the 16GB model for £199.

| iOS 6.1.3 Beta 2 Passcode Lock Bug Fix Release To Developers Posted: 22 Feb 2013 01:51 AM PST Apple recently released iOS 6.1.2, unfortunately it did not fix the passcode lock bug that was discovered in iOS 6.1, but it now looks like the update should be released shortly in the form of iOS 6.1.3. Apple has now release a new beta version of iOS to developers, in the form of iOS 6.1.3 Beta 2, and this version has now apparently fixed the passcode lock bug, and it also comes with some enhancements to Apple Maps.

After announcing that the newest PlayStation won’t allow players to carry over their PSN games or saves, the DualShock 3 (and presumably Sixaxis) are falling by the wayside too. The PS3 will happily use Move controllers, but not the PS3′s older controllers. | Sony’s PS4 Won’t Transfer Over PSN Games Posted: 21 Feb 2013 04:27 PM PST PlayStation 3 owners won’t be able to transfer their PSN game collections to Sony’s new console when it hits shelves at the end of the year. The PS4 will stream some current generation games via its Gaikai service, but a direct transfer is not in the cards. Sony has hit a major nerve center for digital purchases with this decision and there’s every chance this will cause a debate about planned obsolescence for digital purchases going forward.
