| Apple Has Paid Out Over $8 Billion To Developers Posted: 12 Feb 2013 08:56 AM PST Apple’s App Store has been a massive success for the company with billions of apps downloaded, it has also been a massive success for app developers and Apple’s CEO Tim Cook announced today during a conference at Goldman Sachs that Apple have paid over $8 billion to developers. In January Apple announced that its app store had reached a massive 40 billion app downloads, they also announced at the same time that they had paid out over $7 billion to developers.

| Korean LG Optimus G Pro To Feature 5.5 Inch HD Display Posted: 12 Feb 2013 08:33 AM PST LG recently announced the LG Optimus G Pro in Japan, the handset comes with a 5 inch HD display and now LG has released some information about the Korean version of the device which will feature a 5.5 inch display. The 5.5 inch LG Optimus G Pro will feature a full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, the details were revealed ahead of Mobile World Congress on LG’s Social Blog.

| Three UK Launches Samsung Galaxy S3 Ultrafast Posted: 12 Feb 2013 08:07 AM PST UK mobile carrier has announced a new version of Samsung Galaxy S3 smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S3 Ultrafast, the handset will run on Three’s DC-HSDPA 3G network which offers higher download speeds than standard 3G and the device is also 4G ready. The rest of the specifications on the Samsung Galaxy S3 Ultrafast are the same as before, the device comes with a 4.8 inch HD AMOLED display and a quad core 1.4GHz processor.

| Samsung Galaxy S4 Appears In GLBenchmark Posted: 12 Feb 2013 06:00 AM PST According to a recent report, the Korean version of the new Samsung Galaxy S4 has just turned up in the GLBenchmark, although we are not sure quite what to make of the details that were revealed as the device is showing with a non Samsung processor in the form of a Qualcomm MSM8960 quad core processor with a clock speed of 1.9GHz. The GL Benchmark also shows the Samsung Galaxy S4 will a full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and the device is running Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean and also features an Adreno 320 GPU, the device that appeared in the GL Benchmark has the model number of SHV-E300S, and you can see the benchmark details below.

| iOS 6.1.1 Jailbreak For iPhone 4S Released By Evasi0n Posted: 12 Feb 2013 05:39 AM PST Apple recently released the iOS 6.1.1 software update for the iPhone 4S and now the now the developers behind the evasi0n jailbreak which was released for iOS 6.1 last week have released a new version of the jailbreak that will work with iOS 6.1.1 on the iPhone 4S. The evasi0n jailbreak tool has been updated to version 1.3 and the team behind it confirmed that the new version of evasi0n will now work with the new version of iOS 6.1.1 on the iPhone 4S.

| iPhone 5S Photos Leaked (Rumor) Posted: 12 Feb 2013 05:01 AM PST Whilst we have been hearing a lot about the new Samsung Galaxy S4 over the last few weeks we haven’t heard much about Apple’s next generation iPhone, the iPhone 5S and now some photos have appeared online which are apparently of the iPhone 5S on a production line. The photos below show the casing of the iPhone 5S and as you can see it shares a very similar design to that of the iPhone 5, this is what we would expect from Apple as in the past the have kept the same design for two generations of the iPhone.

| Vertu TI, The $10,000 Android Smartphone Posted: 12 Feb 2013 04:50 AM PST We have featured a number of expensive smartphones here at Geeky Gadgets, although I think the new Vertu TI might be the most expensive Android smartphone we have seen as it retails for 7900 Euros which works out at around $10,500 dollars at today’s exchange rate. So what do you get for your $10,500? The Vertu TI comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, you would expect Jelly Bean for that price, it also features a 3.7 inch WVGA display and comes with dual cameras.

| Nokia Asha 310 Dual SIM Smartphone Announced Posted: 12 Feb 2013 03:25 AM PST Nokia has added another smartphone to their Asha range with the launch of the Nokia Asha 310, which is a dual SIM smartphone that features a 3 inch WQVGA display with a resolution of 400 x 240 pixels. The Nokia Asha 310 features 20MB of built in storage it also comes with a microSD card slot that can take up to 32GB cards, and there is also a 2 megapixel rear facing camera.

| Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini In The Works (Rumor) Posted: 12 Feb 2013 03:04 AM PST It would appear that Samsung have another Galaxy S smartphone to reveal along with the new Samsung Galaxy S4, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, which is rumored to be released some time after the Samsung Galaxy S4 launch. According to a recent report, Samsung’s Galaxy S4 comes under the name of Project J at Samsung, although Project J is apparently made up of a total of three devices, one is the Samsung Galaxy S4, another is a smaller version of the device, the Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini, and the third is an unknown device.

| HTC M7 Release Date Confirmed In Leaked Photo Posted: 12 Feb 2013 02:00 AM PST Yesterday we heard that the new HTC M7 would be called the HTC One, we have already seen some render of the new HTC M7 and now it would appear that we have an actual photo of the HTC M7 which also gives us more details on the HTC M7 release date. The photo of the HTC M7 was posted on twitter by @evleaks, as you can see from the photo it has the date of the 19th of February on the device, this is the same date that HTC are holding their Mobile World Congress press event, which pretty much confirms that the device will be unveiled next week.

| Galaxy Nexus Devices Get Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean Update Posted: 12 Feb 2013 12:38 AM PST Google has released a new version of its mobile OS in the form of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean to certain Nexus devices, and the list of devices that are getting the update include the GSM Galaxy Nexus, the Nexus 7 and the Nexus 10. The Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update includes a number of bug fixes and also improved performance, although we do not have any details as yet on exactly what is included in the update.

| LG Optimus L7 II, L5 II And L3 II Get Official Posted: 12 Feb 2013 12:19 AM PST Yesterday we saw a leaked photo of one of LG’s new L Series Android smartphones and also discovered the specifications on the three new devices in the L Series II range, LG have now made these devices official and we have all the details on these new Android smartphones. There are three devices in the LG L Series II range,the LG Optimus L3 II, the LG Optimus L5 II and the LG Optimus L7 II, and all come with updated specifications over the original L Series devices.

| Gas Powered Games Shuts Wildman Kickstarter Down Posted: 11 Feb 2013 03:47 PM PST Legendary designer Chris Taylor’s bid to save Gas Powered Games via Kickstarter has come to an unceremonious end. The highly polarizing campaign aimed to raise money in order to complete the studio’s ambitious cross-genre endeavour Wildman, but suffered from poor momentum almost immediately. It only went downhill as significant lay-offs hit Gas Powered Games and has barely managed to make it halfway to its goal with four days to go. McComb approached WotC on behalf of Wasteland 2 devs InXile trying to do just that, but says he was “rebuffed”, leading to a Torment game built on a system called Numenera.
