If you are in the market for a new car and want a Kia, Kia Motors has announced that it will integrate Google Maps for navigation in its newest car models. This year's Kia Sorento is expected to go on sale in Q1 of 2013 and will be the first car to come with Google Maps on board.

Apple To Bring 802.11ac Networking To 2013 Macs

According to a recent report, Apple is partnering with Broadcom to bring 802.11ac WiFi to its new range of Macs that are expected to be released this year, which will bring faster connections to the 2013 range.

Apple’s new 2013 range of Macs will feature much faster WiFi than previous model, using the 802.11ac chips from Broadcom, according to the Next Web.

Samsung Announces New Series 3 Chromebox

Samsung has launched a new version of its desktop Chrome OS based computer, the Samsung Chromebox Series 3, which features a new exterior design, but similar hardware specifications to the previous versions.

The new Samsung Chromebox features a new sleeker design with rounded corners, there are two model available which are powered by Intel Celeron B840 processor clocked at 1.9GHz.

LG Display Suing Samsung Over Galaxy Note 10.1 Display

It looks like Samsung could face some more legal proceedings, as according to a recent report LG Display have decided to sue Samsung over the 10.1 inch Display used in Samsung’s Galaxy Note 10.1.

According to the report, LG is claiming that the display that Samsung uses in the Galaxy Note 10.1 infringes on LG’s display technology that makes it easier to see the screen from different angles.

Firecracker Launching Slingshot Created By Joerg Sprave (video)

Slingshot master builder Joerg Sprave has created a new style of slingshot specially built for his new year celebrations, which has been designed to fire and automatically light category II firecrackers.

Avis Buys Zipcar In A $500 Million Deal

Avis, the car rental company has made another acquisition, this time it is the car sharing network Zipcar, in a deal which is reported to be worth $500 million, and the purchase, according to Avis is at a 50 percent premium over the closing price of Zipcar in December.

Zipcar was founded back in 2000, and has around 767,000 members and 11,000 vehicles throughout the US and Canada, the UK, Spain and Austria, obviously Avis will be looking to expand the service to more countries.

UK Digitial Sales Hit £1 Billion In 2012

Digital sales of things like music, games, movies and TV shows are becoming increasingly more popular, and now it would appear that digital sales in the UK broke the £1 billion in revenue mark for the first time in 2012.

According to a recent report by the Entertainment Retailers Association, sales of digital content were up by 11.5 percent in 2012 over 2011, and generated more that £1 billion in revenue in 2012.

Intel’s Web TV Service Delayed

Intel were expected to launch their new Web TV service at this years CES later this month, but now it would appear that Intel’s Web TV has been delayed, and we may have to wait a little longer for the official unveiling.

The Intel Web TV offering was expected to be officially announced at CES, which starts next week, although according to a recent report by GigaOM it has been delayed.

Samsung Ordered To Reveal Sales Data In Apple Case

Last year Apple were awarded damaged of $1.05 billion in their court case against Samsung, and whilst Apple recently had their motion to have the devices banned in the US denied, they have now had another motion granted by Judge Lucy Koh.

Samsung have now been ordered by the judge to reveal details on sales on their Galaxy range of devices to Apple, something which the previously did back in August at the initial trial.

BLU Vivo 4.65 inch HD Super AMOLED $300 Unlocked Smartphone Unveiled

After announcing their Vivo 4.3 Dual Sim AMOLED Android Smartphone back at the beginning of August, BLU has now announced that they have created a BLU Vivo 4.65 inch HD Super AMOLED Smartphone that is now available in the US for around $300.

Precise Puppy Ubuntu Based Light-weight Linux OS Launches

If you are looking for a light weight version of Ubuntu a new Linux OS called Precise Puppy might be worth more investigation, and has been specifically designed to run on USB flash drives, mini PCs and the like.

The new version of the Linux Precise Puppy is based on the popular Ubuntu 12.04 Linux software but Precise Puppy 5.4.3 is just 166MB, compared to the latest version of Ubuntu weighing in at 750MB.

Apple Switching A6X Processor Production From Samsung To TSMC

Samsung has produced a number of components for Apple’s iPhone and iPad in the past, although we have been hearing recently that Samsung will be switching to new suppliers for some components.

Samsung Looking To Sell 510 Million Mobile Phones In 2013

Samsung had a great year in 2012 with a number if Samsung devices being extremely popular last year, and now it would appear that Samsung ha big plans for 2013, according to a recent report from the Korea Times.

Samsung is expecting to sell a total of 510 million mobile phones in 2013, and out of these 510 million, around 390 million will be smartphones and the remaining 120 million will be budget and feature phones.

Vodafone UK has launched a new range of plans for both their monthly mobile contracts and their pay as you go contracts, the new service is called ‘Nearly New’, and basically instead of getting a brand new smartphone with you plan you will get a nearly new handset at a reduced cost.

The ‘Nearly New’ handsets will come with a full 12 month warranty on pay as you go and a 24 month warranty on Vodafone’s monthly contracts.

Thieves Steal Over $1 Million Worth Of Apple Gear From Paris Apple Store

On New Years Eve whilst everyone was celebrating, a gang of armed thieves stole over $1 million worth of Apple products from an Apple Store in Paris, the masked men entered the store by the back whilst a janitor was leaving the store.

The thieves are rumored to have stolen over $1 million of Apple Products, and apparently they went for the stock which was boxed rather than the stuff on display in the store.

Samsung And NTT DoCoMo To Launch Tizen Based Smartphones This Year

It would appear that Samsung has plans to launch some new smartphones this year with a different OS, according to a recent report, Samsung is working with NTT DoCoMo on new devices which will run the open source Tizen OS.

According to the report other Japanese carriers as well as NTT DoCoMo are also looking at releasing Tizen based devices, probably in a similar partnership with Samsung and possibly other manufactures.

The Walking Dead FPS Gameplay Trailer Released By Activision (video)

Activision has this week released a new trailer revealing gameplay footage of its new The Walking Dead first-person shooter (FPS) video game.

Pebble Smartwatch Reaches The FCC (video)

After raising huge funds exceeding $10 million via a success Kickstarter campaign the Pebble Watch has made a few alterations to its original design, which have also created a knock on effect delaying its original shipping date by some time.

The Pebble Smartwatch was expected to launch in September 2012, but is no expected to start shipping sometime in the first quarter of this year, fingers crossed.

Samsung’s Galaxy Note II has become an incredibly popular device for the company, we heard recently that Samsung sold a total of 5 million units of the device worldwide and now it would appear that the Galaxy Note II has hit another milestone.

Samsung have now sold a total of one million Galaxy Note II devices in their home country, South Korea, and the device apparently reached this milestone three times quicker that the original Galaxy Note.

LG Tab-Book H160 Windows 8 Tablet To Be Showcased At CES

Nexus 7 Tablet Gets WebOS Port (Video)

Google’s Nexus 7 tablet, which is made by Asus comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box, and now the guys over at WebOS Ports have managed to port webOS to the Nexus 7.

The video below shows the webOS port in action on the Google Nexus 7 tablet, the port is apparently in the early stages, but it certainly looks promising from the video.

Ahead of CES next week Samsung has announced two new monitors which have been designed to provide users with touchscreen technology optimised for Microsoft’s new Windows 8 operating system.

The two new additions include the Series 7 Touch (SC770) and the Series 7 (SC750). The Series 7 Touch (SC770) is 24 inch in size, and the first Samsung has created specifically for Windows 8 touch gestures, supporting up to 10 points of simultaneous multi-touch.

Ouya Developer Kits Start Shipping (video)

2013 MacBook Air To Feature New Processor Platform (Rumor)

According to a recent report by Digitimes, Apple’s 2013 MacBook Air will feature a new ‘processor platform’, the new MacBook Air is expected to be released some time around June of 2013.

If the reports is correct then the 2013 MacBook Air will share a similar design to the existing model, and the major changes will be inside the device, it isn’t clear as yet whether Apple will release a Retina Display version of the MacBook Air.

LG Launches 55 Inch OLED TV In South Korea

LG has announced that they are launching a new 55 inch OLED TV in South Korea, the device will be available in February and LG are taking pre-orders on this new OLED TV this month.

The new 55 inch WRGB OLED TV which comes with the 55EM9700 model number will go on sale in South Korea in the first week of February and the device will retail for 11 million KRW which works out at around $10,000.
