| THQ Divided, Assets Sold To Sega, Ubisoft & Crytek Posted: 24 Jan 2013 06:43 AM PST After filing for bankruptcy at the start of the year and being denied a quick sale of its assets to Clearlake Capital Group, the THQ saga has reached a conclusion with the company being split up and sold in pieces. The main beneficiaries of this fire sale are Sega and Ubisoft, while Deep Silver, Crytek and Take-Two have picked up the rest of the THQ studios and properties.

| Nokia To Start Paying Microsoft For Windows Phone Posted: 24 Jan 2013 05:19 AM PST Earlier today we heard that Nokia made its first quarterly profit for quite a while, Nokia has been receiving $250 million in platform support payments from Microsoft after the two companies signed a deal back in 2011. Microsoft agreed to pay Nokia $1 billion per year in quarterly payments of $250 million for Nokia using Microsoft’s Windows Phone as it main mobile platform, but now it would appear that Nokia will have to start paying Microsoft.

| Samsung Galaxy Grand Gets A Faster Processor In Korea Posted: 24 Jan 2013 03:52 AM PST Samsung announced the Samsung Galaxy Grand back in December, and now Samsung has announced the Galaxy Grand in their home country of South Korea, and this version comes with a more powerful processor than the previous version. The Samsung Galaxy Grand does away with the dual core 1.2GHz processor in Korea, it is replaced by a quad core 1.4GHz processor, the majority of the other specifications remain the same.

| Nokia Announces $584 Million Profit in Quarter 4 Posted: 24 Jan 2013 03:19 AM PST Nokia previously announced that they had sold 4.4 million of their Lumia Windows Phone devices in the last quarter of 2012, and now Nokia has released its financial information for the same quarter. Nokia has actually made a profit this quarter of $585 million, with total revenue of $10.73 billion for the quarter, which is the first time they have made a profit for a while.

The Samsung ATIV Odyssey comes with Microsoft's Windows Phone 8, and the device features a 4 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, plus dual cameras.

| Apple Has Now Sold 500 Million iOS Devices Posted: 24 Jan 2013 02:11 AM PST Along with their financial results which were announced during Apple’s earnings call yesterday, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook also told us how many iPhone’s and iPads they sold in the last quarter. Apple sold a total of 47.8 million iPhones and 22.9 million iPads, and he announced that it the same quarter they were selling around 10 iOS devices and have now sold a massive 500 million iOS devices to date.

| Facebook Beats Google Maps As The Most Popular Mobile App In 2012 Posted: 24 Jan 2013 01:50 AM PST According to a recent report by comScore, Facebook was the most popular mobile application last year, and it managed to beat Google Maps and take the top spot for the most used application in the US. Have a look at the graph below which compares the use of the Facebook app to the Google Maps app, Google Maps was ahead of Facebook for the majority of the year, this changed in September when Facebook overtook Google Maps.

The Samsung Galaxy S4 is rumored to feature a 4.99 inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, it was previously thought that the display would come with around 440 pixels per inch (ppi), but according to a recent report, Samsung will be introducing some new display technology with a higher ppi in the Galaxy S4.

| Apple Announces Record Financial Results Posted: 24 Jan 2013 12:41 AM PST Apple has announced its latest financial results for their 13 week fiscal 2013 quarter which ended on the 29th of December 2012, and they had a total of $54.5 billion in revenue and a net profit of $13.1 billion for the quarter. We also got to find out just how many of their devices they sold in the quarter, with a total of 47.8 million iPhones, this is compared to 37 million iPhones for the same quarter the year before.
