| Nokia Has Sold 7 Million Lumia Smartphones To Date Posted: 05 Sep 2012 08:00 AM PDT Nokia has finally released some sales figures for the Lumia Windows Phone smartphones, they have now sold a total of 7 million Lumia smartphones since the first model was launched. The 7 million Nokia Lumia devices have been sold in 54 countries around the world with over 130 different mobile operators, and they also announced that out of these 7 million devices, they have sold 4 million in the quarter two of 2012.

| Chinese Smartphone Maker Rumored To Have Copied And Patented iPhone 5 Design Posted: 05 Sep 2012 02:58 AM PDT A Chinese smartphone maker has reportedly copied the new iPhone 5 design from all the leaked parts we have seen over the last few weeks, and they are releasing a device which apparently looks like the iPhone 5, but runs Google’s Android OS. The Goophone I5, which you can see in the photo below obviously borrows its design from the various iPhone 5 leaked parts, and if this wasn’t enough, the company behind the device has apparently patented the design in China.

| Android Now Has 52 Percent Of US Smartphone Market Posted: 05 Sep 2012 02:34 AM PDT ComScore has released their latest smartphone data for the US, and according to the report Google’s Android platform now has a 52.2 percent share of the US market for July 2012. In second place is Apple and their iOS platform with a 33.4 percent share of the US smartphone market, RIM is in third place with a 9.5 percent share, both Apple and Google have increased their share, whilst RIM’s has declined since April 2012.

| FBI Says 1 Million Apple iOS UDIDs Leaked Did Not Come From Them Posted: 05 Sep 2012 02:14 AM PDT Yesterday we heard that the Hacking group AntiSec had released over 1 million Apple iOS UDIDs, the leaked unique IDs were reported to have been taken from an FBI laptop. Now the FBI has responded and have said that the leaked UDIDs’ did not come from them, they also said that the FBI computer where the data had been reported to have come from had never been hacked.

| iPhone 5 Release Date Will Be Friday 21st September (Rumor) Posted: 05 Sep 2012 01:57 AM PDT Earlier today we heard that Apple are holding their iPhone 5 launch event next Wednesday the 12 of September, what Apple normally does is put the iPhone up for pre-order on the same day. Apple usually launches the iPhone on a Friday, which would mean that it would go on sale on either the 21st of September of the 28th of September, but now some evidence has appeared online which points to a launch date of the iPhone 5 for the 21st of September.

The handset was previously called the Ascend D Quad and it has now launched as the Ascend D1 Quad and it is available from today in China for 2,699 yuan, which is around $425 US.

| HTC To Announce Latest Android Devices 19th Of September Posted: 05 Sep 2012 12:29 AM PDT We just heard that Apple are holding their iPhone 5 launch event on the 12th of September, and now HTC have announced that they are holding a press event the following week on the 19th of September. HTC haven’t said what they will be announcing at their 19th of September press event, although we suspect we will see some of the new Android devices that we have been hearing rumors about over the last few weeks.

The iPhone 5 launch event will take place at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco at 10.00 AM Pacific time or 1.00PM Eastern time, and as well as the new iPhone 5 we can expect to find out more details about iOS 6.
