Apple iPod Touch 5th Generation Unveiled

As well as unveiling their new iPhone 5 smartphone today, Apple has also announced a new Nano and a new iPod Touch media player, at their keynote event.

The new iPod Touch is fitted with the same screen as the new iPhone 5, and is the lightest and thinnest iPod Touch Apple has created, measuring just 6.1mm thick.

Apple Announces New iPod Nano With Multi-Touch Display

Apple has just announced their new 7th generation iPod Nano, and it now comes with a larger 2.5 inch multi-touch touchscreen display, and the new iPod Nano is almost 50 percent thinner than the previous model.

The new iPod Nano will be available in a total of seven different colors, and it comes with a built in FM tuner with a live pause feature and will also play videos.

Apple iTunes And Mini Player Updated

At Apple’s Keynote event today the company has announced the App store is now available in 63 countries around the world, and will soon be receiving a new update and redesign, which Apple unveiled today.

Apple also announced that there are currently have over 200 million customers using iTunes in the cloud, and unveiled a new iTunes application which has been dramatically simplified and includes many new features.

Last week we told you that Apple would be releasing the iPhone 5 on the 21st of September with pre-orders of the handset starting on Friday the 14th of September.

Apple has now officially announced the iPhone 5 and these dates are now the official dates from Apple, the iPhone 5 will go up for pre-order this Friday the 14th of September and will be available in stores and online from Friday the 21st of September.

New iPhone 5 Lightning Connection Unveiled By Apple

During Apple’s Keynote event today, as expected Apple unveiled a new connetor for their latest iPhone 5 smartphone. Replacing the 30 pin connector that first appeared with the Apple iPod nearly a decade ago.

The latest connector called Lightning unveiled by Apple is 80 percent smaller and is all digital, with an 8-signal design, together with improved durability.

iPhone 5 Gets Official, 4 Inch Retina Display And More

Apple has officially announced its sixth generation the iPhone 5, and it is made from a combination of glass and aluminum, it is 18 percent thinner than the iPhone 4S and measures 7.6mm.

The iPhone 5 features a 4 inch Retina Display with a resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels, which means that you can now have a 5th row of icons on your iPhone’s home screen.

Apple Has Sold More Than 84 Million iPads

Apple has just announced that they have now sold more than 84 million iPads since the iPad was first announced back in 2010, they also announced that they sold a total of 17 million iPads in their last quarter up until the end of June.

Apple also announced that they now have 68 percent of the worldwide tablet market share, this has actually increased since last year when they had a 62 percent market share.

Samsung Says They Expect To Sell 30 Million Galaxy S III Smartphones In 2012

Nuance And Intel Team Up To Bring Voice Assistant To Ultrabooks

Self-Balancing Spherical Drive Electric Bike Prototpye (video)

Final Nintendo Wii U Specifications Leaked? (Rumour)

Following on from the allegedly leaked Wii U prices which surfaced earlier this month, details of the final hardware specifications for Nintendo’s Wii U gaming console have also now been leaked by the VGLeaks website.

The Wii U leaked specifications reveal that Nintendo has equipped their new gaming console with an “Espresso” CPU with three enhanced Broadway cores, together with a “GPU7″ AMD Radeon-based High Definition GPU, and Unique API = GX2, support by 1GB of RAM.

iPhone 5 Nano SIM Card Leaked By Vodafone UK

Apple will unveil their new iPhone 5 later today, the device is expected to feature a slimmer design Apple’s new Nano SIM card, we have already seen a couple of leaked photos of the new Nano SIM card and now one UK mobile carrier has confirmed that the iPhone 5 will use a Nano SIM card.

UK mobile carrier published a post on their blog, along with the following picture, the blog post has now been removed, but the guys from Cnet managed to grab the photo before it was removed.

Boosted Boards, World’s Lightest Electric Vehicle Hits Kickstarter (video)

A new electric vehicle has started its journey on the crowd funding website Kickstarter this week, which takes the form of a longboard skateboard, which has a range of around 6 miles, on a full charge.

The vehicle is called Boosted Board and is equipped with a 2000 watts (2.6 horsepower) electric engine, which is attached to the longboard. Watch the video after the jump to learn more about the Boost Boards project and see it in action.

Samsung Galaxy Note II Appears At The FCC

Samsung’s Galaxy Note II is expected to go on sale in Europe and Asia next month, and now the device has appeared at the FCC, although according to the guys at Engadget this is the international version of the handset that has turned up at the FCC.

This means that their should be another version of the Samsung Galaxy Note II with LTE appearing at the FCC shortly, we still do not have an exact release date for the Samsung Galaxy Note II in the US.

Sony has announced the launch of another new camera, this time it is a new compact camera, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX1, which according to Sony is the worlds first compact camera with a 35mm full frame 24.3 effective megapixel sensor.

Sony NEX-6 Camera Gets Official

Sony has launched its latest camera in its NEX range, the Sony NEX-6, and it comes with a Sony’s 16.1 megapixel Exmore APS HD CMOS sensor and features an ISO range of up to 25600.

The Sony NEX-6 features a new Fast Hyrid AF which is designed for fast and precise auto-focus, and it comes with DSLR like AF tracking for snapping photos up to 10 frames per second.

Sony Alpha SLT-A99 DLSR Camera Officially Announced

Facebooks Mark Zuckerberg Promises A Native Android App

Microsoft Windows Store Opens For Developers In 120 Markets

Microsoft has announced the opening of its Windows Store to individual developers and companies in 120 markets from today, ahead of their official launch of their new Windows 8 operating system on October 26th.

Microsoft’s explained that from today that it would be providing members of its paid Developer Network program with free Windows Store subscriptions for submitting apps.

Hasselblad H5D High-End Medium Format Camera Unveiled

Hasselblad has today unveiled details of its new high-end Hasselblad H5D camera, that will soon be available in 40,50 and 60 megapixel versions, as well as  50- and 200-megapixel Multi-Shot variants.

The Hasselblad H5D camera builds on the pervious H4D camera, but has extra features, including a new True Focus II autofocus system, the ability to capture print-ready JPEG files, and enhanced larger controls, to name a few.

Google Has Now Activated More Than 500 Million Android Devices

Last week Google announced that they had activated a total of 480 million Android devices, with 1.3 million Android devices being activated every day, and now they have announced that they have activated a total of 500 million Android devices.

New iPod Touch To Feature 1136×640 Pixel 4 Inch Display

Apple’s new iPhone is rumored to come with a new larger 4 inch 16:9 touchscreen display, we have also heard that the new iPod Touch is also expected to feature a similar 4 inch display.

According to developer Will Strafach, the new iPod Touch will come with a 4 inch display that will feature a resolution of 1,136 x 640 pixels, and the device apparently has the codename of N78AP.
