The service is now available in the US and you will be able to reserve a new iPhone 5 between 10PM and 4AM and then pick up the device at an Apple store the next day.

| iPhone 5 Shortages Due To New In Cell Displays Posted: 25 Sep 2012 07:26 AM PDT Apple’s new iPhone 5 uses new display technology, the new technology is called in-cell display and the touch sensors are integrated directly into the display rather than being in a separate layer like on the iPhone 4S. Apple announced yesterday that they had sold 5 million iPhone 5′s in the first weekend, this was below what many analysts had been expecting, but Apple also noted that they had completely sold out of their initial supply of the iPhone 5.

| Facebook Stops Using Its Facial Recognition Tool In Europe Posted: 25 Sep 2012 06:50 AM PDT Facebook has been under investigation by the EU for the use of its facial recognition tool, the investigation is still ongoing, but now it would appear that the worlds largest social network has stopped using the tool in the EU. Facebook has stopped using the tool in Europe after it received recommendations from Ireland’s Data protection Commissioner (DPC), although the DPC did not ask for the feature to be removed completely.

One site has a shipping date listed for the Nokia Lumia 920 of the 17th of October, of course this date has yet to be confirmed by Nokia who have yet to announce their European launch dates for the latest Windows Phone 8 devices.

| Barnes & Noble To Launch Nook Video Service Posted: 25 Sep 2012 05:48 AM PDT Barnes & Noble has just announced that they are launching a new Nook Video service this fall and they will be offering videos and TV shows from a number of major studios which include NBO, Sony, STARZ, Warner Bros, Viacom and Walt Disney Studios. | Sharp To Cut 11,000 Jobs And Sell $2.74 Billion Worth Of Assets Posted: 25 Sep 2012 05:04 AM PDT It looks like Japanese electronics manufacturer sharp is going to lay off 11,000 staff in a bid to cut costs, and return the company to profit, on top of that Sharp also intends to sell off some of its assets to raise cash. According to a report by Japan’s Kyodo News, Sharp intends to generate $2.74 billion in cash by selling off some of its assets, the company previously announced that it would lay off 5,000 staff.

| Galaxy Nexus 2 I9260 Camera Samples Leaked (Rumor) Posted: 25 Sep 2012 04:00 AM PDT We are expecting Google to unveil their next Nexus smartphone sometime within the next couple of months, yesterday we heard a rumor that the device was being made by HTC, last years Galaxy Nexus was made by Samsung for Google. Now it would appear that Samsung is working on another Galaxy Nexus device, as some camera samples have leaked which are reported to be from a new GTI9260 device, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus has the model number of GTI9250, so this new HTI9260 handset could be its successor, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus 2.

| Nokia To Sue HTC Over New Windows Phone Smartphones (Rumor) Posted: 25 Sep 2012 03:34 AM PDT HTC recently announced their latest Windows Phone 8 smartphones, the HTC Windows Phone 8X and the HTC Windows Phone 8S, both devices come with a new brightly colored design, and if you look at the photos below they look very similar to the designs of Nokia’s new Lumia Windows Phone 8 smartphones. Nokia were less than impressed when the designs of the new HTC Windows Phone devices were revealed, and now according to a recent report, Nokia is considering suing HTC over the designs of these new devices.

The Samsung Galaxy Note II features a 5.5 inch HD Super AMOLED touchscreen display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, there is also a quad core 1.6GHz processor and it will come with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, there is a full list of specifications below.

| Huawei Launches White Ascend Y 201 Budget Android Smartphone With Tesco Mobile UK Posted: 25 Sep 2012 02:46 AM PDT Smartphone maker Huawei has announced the launch of a new Android smartphone in the UK, the white Huawei Ascend Y 201 which will be available exclusively through Tesco Mobile in the UK. The white Huawei Ascend Y201 comes with a 3.5 inch IPS touchscreen display with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels and it is powered by a single core 800MHz processor and comes with a 4GB microSD card pre-installed. Other features on the Huawei Ascend Y 201 include a 3.2 megapixel camera for photos and video, and it comes with Android 2.3 Gingerbread plus Huawei’s own HAP 5.1 UI.

| iPhone 5 Vs Galaxy S3 Displays Compared Posted: 25 Sep 2012 12:36 AM PDT We have already seen a couple of comparisons between various features on the iPhone 5 vs the Galaxy S3, and now the guys over at DisplayMate have put the two smartphones displays to the test, along with the display on last years iPhone 4S. According to the tests that DisplayMate ran on both devices, they both have excellent displays, although they have said that the display on the new iPhone 5 is slightly better than that of the display on Samsung’s Galaxy S3 smartphones.
