Spotify Announcing ‘Exciting News’ On A Global Scale, November 30th

Spotify has today announced that the company will be holding a special event on November 30th in New York, and has already started sending out invitations. The invitations haven’t disclosed or hinted at what might be happening on November 30th, but explain that “exciting news” on a global scale will be announced, together with the appearance of a “special guest or two.”

SIM Free Samsung Galaxy Nexus Lands In The UK

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus went on sale in the UK last week, and it was available through mobile retailer Phone4U on contract with a number of the UK’s mobile carriers, and now the SIM free version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is available in the UK.

The guys over at Clove are selling the SIM free Samsung Galaxy Nexus for £429 plus taxes which works about at £514.80 including taxes and they have said that they will start shipping the device out to customers tomorrow.

Happy 5th Birthday Nintendo Wii

Only last week Microsoft’s Xbox 360 reached its 10th Birthday and Sony’s PlayStation 3 celebrated its 5th birthday. Well this week Nintendo’s Wii has now also turned 5, celebrating its release in the US five years ago today.

Over those five years Nintendo has sold over 88.3 million Wii consoles worldwide as of October 2011, and when the Wii first arrived it brought with it a whole new motion interface to the gaming world.

Nuclear Taco Sensor Helmet Gameshow (video)

A team at altLab in Lisbon have used a number of sensors and a little Arduino wizardry to create a very unique kind of hat which is capable of measuring the discomfort level you are currently under, whilst eating taco’s.

The helmet measures your discomfort by measuring your perspiration, temperature, and the rate at which you drink down fire quenching liquid provided by the two helmet-mounted bottles filled with a mix of water and yogurt. Watch the video after the jump to see it in action.

Counter-Strike: GO Beta Arriving On PC This Month

The original launch date for the new Counter-Strike: GO Beta was delayed after Valve received feedback from professional gamers and testers. The results revealed that there were just too many crashes and issues that needed to be sorted before it was launched so its beta launch was delayed.

Now Valve are more confident with their new Counter-Strike: GO code and if you have been patiently waiting for the release of the new beta, you will be pleased to know that it is expected to arrive before the end of the month on November 30th.

If you have every needed to lend a memory stick to a friend, but couldn’t hand over your USB stick due to the data on it being needed by yourself. A new concept has bee designed by Hyunsoo Song from SADI which overcomes the problem in a simple way.

Activision Bans 1600+ Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3 Users

As Activision explained when they launched their new game Call Of Duty Modern Warfare 3, there would be no toleration of cheating, hacking or the use of exploits by users.

In response to that statement this week Activision have backed their statement and announced that already 1600+ users have been banned due to attempts to cheat, hack, or use glitches within the game to obtain an unfair advantage over other players.

Nintendo To Launch Zelda And Mario Themed 3DS Bundles 24th November

Nintendo has announced that its will be launching special edition versions of its 3DS handheld console this Thursday the 24th of November, and both of the bundles will retail for $199 each.

Asus Padfone To Come With Quad Core S4 Qualcom Snapdragon Processor?

We have already heard a few details about the new Asus Padfone, which we are expecting to launch in February of next year, and we know that it will be made up of a 4 inch Android smartphone and a 10 inch tablet dock which the phone is inserted into.

Now it would appear we may have some details on what processor will be inside the Padfone, as the guys from Notebook Italia have discovered some Benchmark details on the Padfone and it looks like it will feature a quad core processor.

Galaxy Nexus Headed To Bell Canada December 8th

Whilst we are still waiting for some sort of official announcement from Verizon on when the new Samsung Galaxy Nexus will launch in the US, Canadian Android fans will be please to know that Bell Canada has confirmed they will start selling the Galaxy Nexus from the 8th of December.

Bell will be offering the Samsung Galaxy Nexus for $159.95 when you sign up to a new three year contract and the minimum plan will cost you $50 a month, there are also other options available for an additional cost.

Adobe Flash For Android 4.0 To Be Final Flash For Mobile, Coming Before End Of 2011

Adobe recently announced that they would be killing off Flash for mobile devices, and we heard earlier today that Android 4.0 doesn’t support Flash at the moment, but support will be added in the future.

We heard about the Hugo Boss themed Samsung Galaxy Ace smartphone back in October, and now the device has gone on sale in France and it will be available from Hugo Boss stores.

Verizon Launching Red Droid Incredible 2 November 24th

Verizon will be launching a new version of the Droid Incredible 2 on the 24th of November on their network, and whilst this new Droid Incredible 2 gets a new red paint job, it will come with the exact same specifications as the standard version.

As a reminder, the Droid Incredible 2 features a 4 inch Super LCD display with a WVGA resolution, processing is provided by a single core 1GHz processor and there is also 768MB of RAM.

VMware Fusion Update Adds Support To Install Leopard And Snow Leopard Within VMs

Since Apple released OS X Lion earlier this year, Apple has authorised its new software to be run within Mac virtualisation software such as Parallels and VMware Fusion. However Leopard and Snow Leopard have never had the same consent from Apple.

Now even without this consent VMware has now released a new update to its Fusion virtualisation software, which brings with it support for users to be able to run previous versions of Mac OS X. The new support within the update wasn’t actually included in the VMware release notes, but was uncovered after tip off by a user to the Mac World website.

Google Nexus S Gets Android 4.0 ICS Port (Video)

We saw a couple of videos earlier of Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich running on the Samsung Galaxy S II and the LG Optimus 3D, and now we have a video of Ice Cream Sandwich running on the Google Nexus S.

It looks like most things are working on the device including WiFi and 3G, it would appear at the moment the only thing which isn’t working is the video camera.

Invoked Computing Turns Every Day Objects Into Computer Interfaces (Video)

Researchers at the University of Tokyo in Japan are working on something they call Invoked Computing, the idea behind it is that any object can be turned into a computer interface.

Sub $299 NVIDIA Tegra 3 Tablets To Launch Six Months After Release?

Apple’s Siri Used To Control Your House Temperature (Video)

We recently head that Apple’s voice activated virtual assistant, Siri, had been cracked and was capable of running on virtually any device, which include Google’s Android devices.

Now developer and iPhone hacker @plamoni has been working to get Siri to work with other connected devices, and has created a proxy server which allows him to set up Siri with some new functions, one of which you can see working in the video below.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus Headed To Verizon December 8th?

Last week we heard that the Samsung Galaxy Nexus may be launching in the US with Verizon Wireless on the 21st of November, which is today, and if it was due to launch by today we would have heard something by now, but there has still been no official word from Verizon.

Now we have another possible launch date of the 8th of December, according to a recent picture posted on Twitter which is supposed to be from Verizon’s internal inventory system.

Amazon Offers Prime Customers Free Music For Longer Delivery Times

If you are an Amazon Prime customer and may not require your deliveries within 2 days. You could now benefit from some free music being offered by Amazon to its Prime customers.

Amazon has this week launched a new option for its Prime customers which allows you to select a longer shipping schedule of 5-7 days. Doing so will then provide you with a $1 credit to spend on music at Amazon’s MP3 Store.

Android Ice Cream Sandwich Ported To Samsung Galaxy S II And LG Optimus 3D (Video)

Samsung has already confirmed that the Samsung Galaxy S II will be getting the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update, although this will probably be released some time before the end of the year or by the early part of 2012.

Last week Google released the source code for Android Ice Cream Sandwich, and now the first ports are appearing with the Samsung Galaxy S II and the LG Optimus 3D getting Android 4.0 ports, which can be seen in the videos below.

Halo Helljumper Fan Made Series (video)

New 8.9 Inch Kindle Tablet To Launch Middle Of 2012?

We previously heard that Amazon’s next Kindle tablet would be launching next year, the company is reported to be working on a 10.1 inch version and an 8.9 inch version, and the 8.9 inch version is expected to be the next Kindle tablet to launch.

According to recent report by Digitimes, we should see the 8.9 inch Kindle tablet launch before he end of the second quarter of 2011, so that you put the launch at around the middle of 2012.

EXOPC EXOdesk Interactive Desk Looks Amazing (Video)

EXOPC will be showing something new off at next years CES, which takes place in January, the EXOdesk, which is an interactive desk, sort of similar to the Microsoft surface in desk form.

As you will see in the video below, the desk can be customized to display a number of different things, including virtual keyboards, widgets, Twitter feeds, RSS feeds and more, have a look at the video of it in action below.

Nook Tablet Gets Rooted

Barnes & Nobles latest device, the new Nook Tablet was only released last week and the device has already been rooted by the guys over at the XDA Developers forums,who previously rooted the new Amazon Kindle Fire.

The Nook Tablet features a 7 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, there is also 1GB of RAM and a dual core 1GHz processor plus 16GB of built in storage.

Google Ice Cream Sandwich Missing Flash Support At Present

RIM Confirms Some BlackBerry 7 Smartphones Dying In Sleep

RIM has confirmed that some of the companies BlackBerry 7 smartphones are suffering from a dying in sleep problem, and it seems the devices affected include the BlackBerry Bold 9930 and the 9900.

What seems to be happening is that when a deice is plugged in to charge overnight, the handset wont respond in the morning, and the only way to fix the issue is to remove the battery and re-insert it.

Nikon D800 DSLR Photos Leaked

We have already heard some rumored specifications on the new Nikon D800, and now the guys over at Nikon Rumors have managed to get their hands on some photos of the D800.

The Nikon D800 is reported to be smaller and lighter than the existing D700 and will apparently come with a 36MP sensor, plus a slightly larger display the the D700 and also better video quality than the D3S.

Microsoft’s Windows Phone Marketplace Hits 40,000 Apps

According to a recent study by All About Windows Phone, Microsoft’s Windows Phone Marketplace now has over 40,000 apps , this is up from 35,000 applications in October.

It looks like over 10,000 new apps have been added within the last 90 days, and there are now over 10,000 developers creating applications for the Windows Phone Marketplace.

ReCell Makes Replacement Spray-On Skin in 30 Minutes

It's now entirely possible to treat severe burns with skin grafts in just half an hour. ReCell is a product by Avita Medical that uses regenerative medicine technology to literally grow skin. It is a small kit that comes with a syringe which has a nozzle at the end of it instead of a needle. That's for spraying the grown replacement skin on the affected area.
