| European Commission To Investigate Samsung’s 3G Patent Case Against Apple Posted: 04 Nov 2011 04:37 AM PDT Samsung is trying to get the iPhone 4S banned in Australia, the company is accusing Apple of violating some of its 3G patents, which Apple holds licenses for, but Samsung says they licenses don’t apply in Australia. Now it would appear that the European Commission is interested in Samsung’s case against Apple, and the case could possibly land Samsung in trouble with the EU, as they are investigation whether the case against Apple violates EU competition laws.

Providing 4096 × 2160 pixels resolution for video, and an impressive 5120 × 2700 for still images, together with a max frame rate of 120 fps. The new Red Scarlet records in Redcode RAW format and, and is capable of shooting at 1K at 120fps which beats the new Canon C300 which is only able to output to 1080p even with its 4k sensor. | Android Gingerbread Now On 44 Percent Of Android Devices Posted: 04 Nov 2011 04:19 AM PDT Google has released its latest Android distribution figures, and Android Gingerbread is now on almost 44 percent of all Android devices, 43.9 percent to be exact, this is up around 5.7 percent from last month. This is the first time that Android Gingerbread has bee higher than Android 2.2 Froyo, which was on 45.3 percent of Android devices last month and has now dropped to 40.7 percent.

The Nokia Lumia 800 features a 3.7 inch touchscreen AMOLED display with a resolution og 800 x 480 pixels, processing is provide by a single core 1.4GHz processor, plus an 8 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and an LED flash.

| i+Case Aluminum iPhone 4S Case Looks Awesome Posted: 04 Nov 2011 03:51 AM PDT We have featured quite a few different cases for the iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 here at Geeky Gadgets, the latest one is called the i+Case and it was designed by Jason Valalik and Chungming Ying. The i+Case is similar in design to Apple’s iPhone 4 bumper case, but what we can see from the photos it looks a lot better, and each one is machined from a single block of aluminum.

Free Wi-fi is already now available at Pier 1 at Brooklyn Bridge Park, Prospect Park Picnic House and Manhattan’s Marcus Garvey Park. Together with Marcus Garvey Park in Manhattan in preparation for this years marathon on Sunday. The free Wi-Fi roll out is part of a 5 year digital initiative with Mayor and the City of New York to provide free Wi-Fi at 26 locations in 20 New York City parks across the five boroughs. | Nokia Lumia 800 Tops Sales Charts In France Posted: 04 Nov 2011 03:17 AM PDT It looks like the new Nokia Lumia 800 Windows Phone smartphone may already be a hit for Nokia, in France as least, as according to the Windows Phone Blog, the Nokia Lumia 800 has topped the sales charts in France for the first week with the retailer PhoneHouse, which is the Carphone Warehouse here in the UK. It will be interesting to see how Nokia’s flagship Windows Phone smartphone does in other countries as well, as it will be available in the UK on the 16th of November.

| Early Modern Warfare 3 Multiplayers Will Not Be Banned Says Microsoft Posted: 04 Nov 2011 02:51 AM PDT Luckily for some Modern Warfare 3 fans they were able to pick up the game from Kmart stores in Miami and New York even before it’s been officially released. If you are one of those lucky few there is no need to worry if you fancy giving the multiplayer side a go before the official launch. As Microsoft has explained no bans will enforced on legitimate copies purchased even if it was before the official launch date. Some shipments of Modern Warfare 3 arrived at Kmart stores in the cities with instructions to sell the copies immediately, its not been discovered whether this was intentional or a mistake on Kmart’s part, but the chain has now stopped selling MW3 copies. | Samsung Galaxy Nexus Coming To Verizon 17th November? Posted: 04 Nov 2011 02:29 AM PDT The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will go on sale in the UK and Europe on the 17th of November, Verizon Wireless in the US has yet to officially announce when they will start selling the Galaxy nexus, and we had heard that the device may be on their network around the 28th of November, although this wasn’t a confirmed date. According to the guys over at Android Central, who have received some details of a possible launch date, Verizon may start selling the Samsung Galaxy Nexus from the 17th of November, which is the same date as the UK launch.

The new HTC Rezound comes with a 4.3 inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, plus Android Gingerbread, although it will be getting Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich early next year.

| Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc HD In The Works Posted: 04 Nov 2011 02:07 AM PDT It looks like Sony Ericsson may have a new Android device in the works, and according to a recent report the device will be called the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc HD, as the name suggests it will feature a HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Other rumored specifications include a camera which can record full HD video in 1080p, possibly and 8 megapixel one, and Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0, and it is also said to come with the ability to record HD video and capture full resolution photos at the same time, which wounds like a cool feature.

| iPhone 4S Owners Reporting Audio Issues? Posted: 04 Nov 2011 01:18 AM PDT It looks like iPhone 4S owners are reporting another problem on top of the battery problems that Apple has already acknowledged, this time it is to do with audio on the iPhone 4S when it is used with a headset. A number of iPhone 4S users have reported problems when using the headset to make calls, with some reporting a echo problem, and some having no audio on outgoing calls.

| Apple’s Siri Goes Offline For A Few Hours Posted: 04 Nov 2011 12:57 AM PDT One of the main features that Apple advertises for its new iPhone 4S smartphone is the new voice activated virtual assistant called Siri, and it would appear that yesterday there was the first outage of Apple’s Siri service. Users in the US reported being unable to get Siri to work for a few hours, and many of them were getting the message that they couldn’t connect to the network, and it would appear that the problem lasted for a few hours.

| Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet Leaked? Posted: 04 Nov 2011 12:46 AM PDT Barnes & Noble are holding a press event next week when they are expected to announce a new Nook Color, and now the guys over at Engadget have managed to get their hands on some details of a new Nook Tablet which will be announced next week. According to the report, the Nook Tablet will look very similar to the existing Nook Color (pictured below) and it will come with a 7 inch VividView IPS color touch screen display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, plus a dual core 1.2GHz OMAP4 processor, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage, plus a microSD card slot.

| Amazon To Launch 8.9 Inch Kindle Fire Next Year? Posted: 04 Nov 2011 12:33 AM PDT Amazon’s first Android tablet the Amazon Kindle Fire is due to go on sale later this month, it will come with a 7 inch touchscreen display and will retail for $199, we have also been hearing that Amazon is going to launch a second Kindle Fire tablet next year, and we have previously heard that it would feature a 10 inch display. According to a recent report, the second Amazon Kindle Fire wont come with a 10 inch display, instead it will come with a 8.9 inch display, and we may see the 10 inch version launching later in the year.

| Posted: 04 Nov 2011 12:27 AM PDT HTC and Verizon have finally announced the Android smartphone we have been hearing about over the last few weeks, the HTC Rezound which is the first HTC smartphone in the US to come with Beats Audio. The HTC Rezound features a 4.3 inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, processing is provided by a dual core 1.5GHz processor and there is 1GB of RAM, plus Android Gingerbread, although Verizon has said it will be getting the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update early next year.

| Indie Director Shoots Action Flick With DIY Cameras (Video) Posted: 04 Nov 2011 12:00 AM PDT Trust us, after you read this, you’ll be very interested about the movie. But first, let the facts be laid bare. Evan Glodell recently embarked on an indie film project with a pair of cameras he built from scratch. The first was derived from the SI-2K Mini, a digital cinema camera. The SI-2K, once stripped to its parts, was then improved with a broad assortment of add ons. Think of the scavenging/salvage of Fallout 3 to get a perfect idea of the finished product.
