| Snap! iPhone 4S Camera Case Adds A Real Shutter Button Posted: 02 Nov 2011 07:00 AM PDT We have featured a number of different cases for the iPhone here at Geeky Gadgets, which give your iPhone the look of a camera, and now this new one adds in some actual camera functions as well as making your iPhone 4S or iPhone 4 look like a camera, aptly named Snap! Snap! is a case which was designed by the guys over at Bitplay and as you can see from the photos it features a fake camera lens on the front but it also comes with an actual shutter button that can be used to take photo just like a standard digital camera.

| Apple’s Siri Network Data Usage Tested Posted: 02 Nov 2011 06:42 AM PDT Apple’s new Siri personal assistant always requires an Internet connection to be able to answer your questions, but does this cause a problem with data usage? A little over two weeks after the launch of the new iPhone 4S a few tests have now been carried out on the device and its voice assistant feature to check just how much data Siri will use over time. The Ars Technica team have done a little investigating and have discovered that on average Siri uses around 63kb of data on each request. With data usage ranging from just 23kb up to 187kb. Not much you think but if you are on a low data tariff with your mobile network provider the requests could start to mount up. | iPhone 4S Battery Problems Due To iOS 5? Now the guys over at PCMag have put together a video which compares the battery life on an iPhone 4S and iPhone 4 running iOS5 and an iPhone 4 running iOS, you can see the results in the video below.

| HTC Sensation XL Lands On Vodafone UK Posted: 02 Nov 2011 06:21 AM PDT UK mobile carrier Vodafone just dropped us an email to let us know that the new HTC Sensation XL is now available with their network here in the UK, and the handset is available from free on their £41 a month 24 month contract. The HTC Sensation XL features a 4.7 inch Super LCD touchscreen display with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels, processing is provided by a single core 2.5GHz processor and it comes with Android Gingerbread and HTC’s Sense 3.5 UI.

| Angry Birds Reaches Half A Billion Downloads (Video) Posted: 02 Nov 2011 05:44 AM PDT Just a couple of weeks ago we heard that Angry Birds had reached over 400 million downloads, and now Rovio Mobile has confirmed that Angry Birds has been downloaded more that half a billion times, which according to Rovio makes Angry Birds the best selling mobile game in the world. Rovio has also put together a video showing some other stats about how popular Angry Birds has become, which you can see below, which includes over 130 million monthly users, and 300 million minutes of the game played each day.

| Samsung Galaxy Note Gets Reviewed (Video) Posted: 02 Nov 2011 04:25 AM PDT We recently had a brief hands on with the new Samsung Galaxy Note, and now a video review of the new Samsung Galaxy Note has appeared online and we get a really good look at the Samsung Galaxy Note as well as all of its features. The Samsung Galaxy Note will come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread, but Samsung will be releasing the Android 4.0 update for the Galaxy Note later this year and it features a 5.3 inch Super AMOLED plus display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels.

| Apple Misses iTunes Match Launch Date Posted: 02 Nov 2011 04:09 AM PDT Apple announced a while back at their lets talk iPhone media event that iTunes Match would launch by the end of October, we are now in November and Apple hasn’t given any update on when iTunes Match will officially launch. iTunes Match is basically a service that will match whatever music you have in your iTunes library and will then let you stream the music direct to your iOS device from the cloud and the service will cost $24.99 per year.

The K Computer broke its own record by improving its processing speed to 10.51 petaflop with its 88,128 processors executing over 10.5 quadrillion calculations per second. Which it managed to run for 29 hours straight without failure. | Modern Warfare 3 : New Modes And Multiplayer Matches Unveiled (video) Posted: 02 Nov 2011 03:05 AM PDT Activision has released a new trailer today unveiling different modes and multiplayer match options within its new highly anticipated Modern Warfare 3 game. The new modes demonstrated within the video includes a new “Kill Confirmed” game in which you have to capture the other teams dog tags after a kill to obtain points for your team. During a skirmish if one of your teammates falls you can also pick up their dog tags to stop the other team scoring points. Another new mode provides a different take on capture the flag in which players must hold onto a flag for as long as possible without the other team capturing it. | Android Smartphones Outselling The iPhone By Two To One In The UK? Posted: 02 Nov 2011 02:15 AM PDT According to a recent report by Kantar Worldpanel, Google’s Android devices are doing pretty well here in the UK, and are outselling Apple’s iPhone two to one, the research was conducted over a 12 week period up to the 2nd of October. The report says that 49.9 of smartphones sold for that period in the UK were Android devices, this compares to 18.5 percent for Apple’s iPhone and 22.5 percent for BlackBerry devices.

| Samsung Galaxy Nexus Gets Reviewed (Video) Posted: 02 Nov 2011 01:24 AM PDT The Samsung Galaxy nexus is scheduled to go on sale in the UK later this month, we have already seen lots of photos of the device as well as a few videos, and now we have a new video from the guys over at Stuff which give us a really good look at the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and the majority of its features. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and it features a 4.65 inch HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, which looks amazing in the video below.

| Cylindrical Mirror Creates 3D On Your iPad (Video) Posted: 02 Nov 2011 01:09 AM PDT A research group at the Ochanomizu Women’s University had created a cylindrical mirror which can be used to display 3D images on your iPad, and the mirror makes use of the iPads touchscreen display. When the mirror is rotated on the iPads surface the image that is displayed on the iPads screen is also rotated, creating a sort of 3D display have a look at the video of it in action below.

| New Android Market Leaked, Brings Auto Download Options Posted: 02 Nov 2011 01:01 AM PDT A new version of Google’s Android Market has been leaked and it looks like it will come with a range of new features, the new version is 3.3.11 and one of the main new features will be changes to the auto downloads. Users will be able to make the auto update setting the default setting, which should make it easier to auto update your applications, and you will also be able to choose whether this can be done over WiFi only or WiFi and 3G.

Woah! The worst that can probably happen is they grow 100 times their size and start going after on humans. This is real Michael Crichton territory that deserves a big screen adaptation. | Samsung Galaxy Nexus To Land On Verizon 28th November? Posted: 02 Nov 2011 12:17 AM PDT The Samsung Galaxy Nexus will go on sale in the UK and Europe on the 17th of November, and we are expecting it to launch in the US with Verizon wireless at around the same time, but it could possibly be coming on the 28th of November. The guys over at Droid Life have obtained an advertising schedule for Verizon and it shows that they will be pushing the Droid Razr first from the 10th to 14th of November and then the Samsung Galaxy nexus from the 28th of November.
