Which has been designed to monitor your heart rate and breathing remotely, by just using the iPad 2′s camera. The new Vital Signs application is able to measure your heart rate by just using the colour of your face, and measure your breathing by monitoring the motion of your chest. As a reminder, the BMW i3 will have around 170 horsepower and will have a top speed of 93MPH, so we suspect this one will be designed to be used around town, whilst the i8 will be more of a sports car with a 0-60MPH time of under 5 seconds. New Metallic Micro Lattice Becomes The Worlds Lightest Material Posted: 18 Nov 2011 03:34 AM PST A new metallic micro-lattice material which has been developed by a team of researchers from the University of California, has become the world’s lightest material. The new micro-lattice material is so light it can be placed on top of dandelion fluff without causing it damage, as shown in the image below. The new materials super lightness is due to the way it has been constructed using interconnecting hollow nickel-phosphorous tubes which create a micro-lattice. The nickel-phosphorous tubes have a wall thickness of 100 nanometers, which is the equivalent of 1,000 times thinner than a human hair.
