Well today Google has now officially unveiled its new Gmail update which it has now started rolling out to Gmail user accounts. All be it after a fair bit of asking and nagging. If you ask Siri to “tell me a story”, she will try to get out of the the task by saying she doesn’t know any good ones and that the story is silly. Battlefield 3 Sells 5 Million Copies In Its First Week To Become EA’s Fastest Selling Game Posted: 01 Nov 2011 03:45 AM PDT Battlefield 3 has become EA’s fastest selling game ever after selling 5 million copies in its first week on release. The highly anticipated first person shooter which we have been featuring here on Geeky Gadgets in the run-up to its launch was released on October 25th and uses the new Frostbite 2 gaming engine. There have been a few teething issues with its launch however with a number of players experiencing problems logging on to multiplayer games and with multiple crashes during gameplay. However EA now say that nearly all the issues have been corrected and they’re working hard to correct the remaining few. BMW 3 Series Now Equipped With Full-Colour Heads Up Display Posted: 01 Nov 2011 03:06 AM PDT BMW has today announced that its 3 Series automobiles produced in 2012 will now come equipped with a full-colour heads up display (HUD). The heads up display was originally created for use in jet fighters and was designed to provide the pilot with crucial data in an easy to access display which prevented the pilot from being distracted. The same full-colour heads up display within the 3 Series BMW will provide the driver with data about the car’s speed and navigation in a virtual form in a high-quality resolution within the direct field of vision. Samsung are claiming that Apple has violated three of its 3G wireless patents in Australia, and they have asked the court for access to the source code for the iPhone 4S from Apple as well as seeking details on agreements Apple has with the major mobile carriers in Australia, which include Vodafone, Telstra and Optus. Google Reader Updated With Clean User Interface And Google+ Intergration Posted: 01 Nov 2011 02:28 AM PDT Google has today rolled out the new update for its Google Reader service which was announced in a short time ago and now integrates much more closely with Google+. Its integration with Google+ now includes the addition of a +1 button that replaces the old “Like” button and also brings with it the closure of a few services within Google Reader including friending, following, shared items and comments. Which have now all been passed over to Google+. There are export facilities available if you need to export your friends, following or shared items data from the old Google Reader system. Google To Launch Native Gmail iPhone App Posted: 31 Oct 2011 11:54 PM PDT Google’s Gmail is already available for the iPhone via a web app, but it looks like Google may have other plans for Gmail on the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, a native Gmail app for iOS devices. According to TechCrunch’s MG Siegler the app has already been submitted to Apple for approval and could launch very soon, and the app is expected to bring all the features of Gmail to the iPhone and iOS devices.
