Microsoft working on $99 video-streaming set-top box

Microsoft is looking to create a set-top box for media playback, according to a report. As well as previous rumors, this new one says that the software giant is working on a device that will allow users to sign onto Xbox Live and use its apps to view streaming video. This would basically clone the non-gaming aspects of the Xbox 360 game console into a fairly cheap product.

PayPal Seeking to Get Rid of Passwords

The chief information security officer for Paypal, Michael Barrett, spoke at the Interop IT conference and advocated for a new internet security system that got rid of passwords and PINs in favor of biometric technology – specifically fingerprint scanners. To push the envelope even further, Mr. Barrett said he believed the shift towards fingerprint internet security would begin later this year in the smartphone market.

Running With Friends Now Available On iOS

It was a huge week for Nokia, who announced and showed off hands-on demonstrations of two new phones. The company isn't really seeking to make anything official until their event in London next Tuesday, but in its hands-on video discussed the phone's specs and announced that Lumia 928 would be launching for Verizon.

We won't even talk about the Tesla's price range, seeing as how even Ford's electric Focus lies closer to $40,000 – and that's the lower range of the electric car industry. It's a great deal different from previous Asha versions and comes with a brand new operating system Nokia has coined "Asha software platform". Not the most creative name, but the phone is a giant step forward for the Asha series.
