LG Optimus LTE Headed TO Canada As LG Eye Posted: 24 Oct 2011 08:02 AM PDT LG announced the LG Optimus LTE recently, which will go on sale in South Korea, the company has yet to confirm when it will launch in the US, but it would appear that it is headed to Canada as the LG Eye. It looks like the LG Optimus LTE will be available with Canadian carrier Bell, although the carrier has yet to confirm it, as a reminder the LG Optimus LTE or LG Eye as it will be called in Canada features a 4.5 inch IPS HD display which comes with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels, which means it will be able to display HD movies in 720p. Apple Updates iPad 2 SmartCover, New Colors Added Posted: 24 Oct 2011 07:23 AM PDT Earlier today we heard that Apple had updated its range of MacBook Pro notebooks, which now come with faster processors than the previous models, and now it would appear that Apple has also updated the SmartCover for the iPad 2. It looks like Apple has removed the orange SmartCover from their website and replaced it with a more subtle dark gray SmartCover, and it looks like they have also changed the inside of the SmartCover, so as it is now the same color as the outside. Which provides a navigation systems that is projected on to the drivers widescreen. Allowing the driver to keep their eyes on the road and still view directional and road traffic information. Google Voice App Returns To iTunes App Store Posted: 24 Oct 2011 02:19 AM PDT After being pulled from Apple’s iTunes App Store Google Voice application has now returned as an iOS 5 friendly version. Just under a week ago the application was pulled by Google due to complications which caused it to crash when used with Apple’s new iOS 5 operating system. Even though the application was not affecting everyone, the Google Voice version 1.3.0.1771 when used on an iPhone 4 running iOS 5 was definitely causing issues for some and Google did the right thing and removed it from the App Store. Nikon D300 Travels To The Edge Of Space In A Beer Cooler (video) Posted: 24 Oct 2011 02:05 AM PDT A couple of intrepid tech students, Erich Leeth and Terry Presley have sent their Nikon D300 camera to the edge of space strapped inside a beer cooler that they purchased from Walmart. The duo used a weather balloon to carry their Nikon D300 right to the edges of space and used the beer cooler to protect it from the cold and help return it to earth in one piece. Their spacecraft (Cygnus) was launched at 9:02am from : 33° 49′ 28″N 102° 53′ 56″W, and it touched back down to Earth at 11:56am at 33° 19′ 21″N 101° 59′ 42″W, 62 miles from where it was launched.
