Posted: 20 Oct 2011 06:03 AM PDT Yesterday Apple announced their latest quarter earnings, and during the earnings call Apple also announced that they had sold 17.7 million iPhone’s for that quarter, and now according to a recent report by the WSJ, Samsung may have sold more smartphones than Apple for the same period. According to the WSJ report, Samsung sold around 20 million smartphones for the same period, compared to Apple’s 17.7 million, although this number has yet to be confirmed by Samsung. Google+ Passes 3.4 Billion Image Uploads In Just 100 Days Posted: 20 Oct 2011 05:48 AM PDT As well is announcing the arrival of applications to its Google+ social network together with the much requested use of pseudonyms. Google has also revealed today that it has received more than 3.4 billion image uploads to its Google+ site in just 100 days. Which equates to around 34 million images being uploaded to Google’s new social networking platform every day. In comparison Facebook has around 100 billion photos in total and has around 6 billion photos uploaded every month, so Google still has some way to go before to catch up.

The new project is work which has been carried out by the Sensors and Devices group from Microsoft Research Cambridge, and has been designed to allow you to interact with 3D objects using your bare hands. The fantastic HoloDesk technology uses an interactive system combining an optical see through display and Microsoft’s Kinect camera to create the illusion that users are directly interacting with 3D graphics. Apple Turns On iTunes Match, Launch Imminent?
