| Sony Xperia Z Coming To Canada This Month Posted: 15 Jul 2013 07:03 AM PDT Sony has announced that they will be launching the Sony Xperia Z in Canada this month with mobile carrier Bell Canada, although they have not given an exact launch date for the handset. The Sony Xperia Z is equipped with a 5 inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and it is powered by a quad core 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor and features an Adreno 320 GPU.

The BlackBerry Q5 features a 3.1 inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 720 x 720 pixels, plus a full QWERTY keyboard, it also features front and rear facing cameras.

| Samsung Testing KNOX Security For Galaxy S4 In Europe Posted: 15 Jul 2013 06:03 AM PDT Samsung announced its KNOX security for its Galaxy smartphones back in February, and now Samsung is testing out its KNOX security for the European version of the Samsung Galaxy S4. When the Samsung Galaxy S4 was launched, Samsung did not have the KNOx security ready for the handset, and they are now apparently testing it out for the handset in Europe.

| BlackBerry Z10 Price Drops Due To Lack Of Interest In The Handset Posted: 15 Jul 2013 03:13 AM PDT The BlackBerry Z10 launched at the end of January, it was BlackBerry’s first BlackBerry 10 smartphone, As we mentioned on the weekend, a number of retailers are dropping the price of the device. US carrier AT&T originally sold the handset for $199 with a new two year contract, the price on the network has now been dropped to $99, and retailers like Amazon are also selling the handset for as low as $49 with a new contract.

| Sony To Pay £250,00 Fine For 2011 PlayStation Hack Posted: 15 Jul 2013 02:53 AM PDT Back in 20111 Sony’s PlayStation Network was hacked, and Sony had been fined £250,000 by UK regulators over the hack, although the company had appealed the fine. Sony has now decided to drop their appeal, and will now pay the £250,000 fine to the UK regulators. The reason Sony apparently dropped the appeal is because they did not want to share information about their security system.

The device will apparently feature a 5.9 inch display. The 5.9 inch display on the HTC One Max will come with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, the device will be powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor with a clock speed of 2.3GHz.

| LG Looking To LG Optimus G2 To Boost Sales Posted: 15 Jul 2013 02:16 AM PDT LG are expected to announce their new LG Optimus G2 smartphone at a press event on the 7th of August. According to a recent report by the Korea Herald, LG are looking to boost their second quarter smartphones sales with the new G2. The LG Optimus G2 will come with a full HD 5.2 inch display, the handset will use LG’s new super thin 5.2 inch LCD display that was recently announced and it will come with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

| Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Certified In Indonesia Posted: 15 Jul 2013 01:51 AM PDT It looks like more evidence on the new Samsung Galaxy Note 3 has been revealed, the handset has received certification in Indonesia with the model number SM-N900. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is rumored to feature a 5.99 inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The handset will apparently be available with different displays in different countries, one model will come with a Super AMOLED display, the other will come with a Super LCD display.

We had previously heard that the Apple iWatch may launch this year, although it looks like we may have to wait until next year, as according to the FT report Apple still have a few issues to iron out with the iWatch design.

The HTC One Mini will come with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and will be powered by a quad core 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, the handset will also come with 1GB of RAM and 16GB of built in storage.

| An Artificial Heart with a Side of Cow Posted: 14 Jul 2013 01:39 PM PDT After fifteen years in development, Carmat, a Paris-based company, is starting human trials for its revolutionary new artificial heart. Artificial hearts aren't revolutionary in their own right, seeing as how they've been around for a couple decades now, but the new heart from Carmat takes a great leap forward by using cow flesh to cover all parts of the heart that would ordinarily touch human flesh. One of the major problems with artificial hearts is the clogging caused by the machinery that touches human flesh once inside someone's chest. The cow tissue coating of Carmat's new heart should cut down or possibly even eliminate the problem altogether. Posted: 14 Jul 2013 01:36 PM PDT Being a college student (yes, I'm only 22) I'm well aware of the hassles of a college ID. 90% of the time you never need it, so 50% of the time, when you do need it, you don't have it. Schools across the country are looking to remedy the situation and beef up security by replacing school IDs with iris scanners. Winthrop University is just one of many schools, ranging from elementary schools to colleges, that are employing iris scanning technology as added security measures for students, parents, and faculty. Many of these schools are putting their new systems to the test this fall and will still handout IDs to students in addition to registering their iris into the security system when the student goes through the usual ID process. In the years since, technological corporations have taken over to make the technology industry the number one breadwinner of the U.S. economy. However finance is back on the rise and set to take back over the top spot soon. Tech companies made up 20% of all profit back in 2012, which was just a little bit more than finance. However, if this year's first quarter reports remain consistent, Wall Street analysts are sure finance will come out ahead. Right now finance companies make up about 20% of this year's profit, which is already at $247 billion, while tech companies only made about 17% of the pie.
