OfficeMax document leaks hinting at 4G and 3G TouchPad versions Posted: 30 May 2011 09:00 AM PDT The last time I talked about the HP TouchPad tablet that is coming soon was a week or so back. The tablet is tipped to hit Wal-Mart in June for $599 making it quite expensive. A new document turned up today from a leak that points to OfficeMax getting the TouchPad in July. The expected launch date is in June and OfficeMax is typically behind the schedule on new products so June could still be the official launch. However a brief 45 second teaser has been leaked on to the Internet and show a snippet of the story line. StarCraft 2 Heart Of The Swarm is the second part of the StarCraft 2 trilogy, with the third being Legacy of the Void. Samsung To Launch 4G Tablet This Year Posted: 30 May 2011 03:36 AM PDT According to Samsung’s president of their mobile division, JK Shin, the company plans to launch a 4G tablet later this year, although we don’t know if it will be a 4G version of one of Samsung’s new tablets that have already been announced, like the Galaxy Tab 10.1 or a completely new tablet. He also mentioned that we can expect to see the new Samsung Galaxy S III in the first half of 2012, so probably some time around April in 2012 as that would be one year on from the launch of the new Galaxy S II which was introduced recently. Gears of War 3 will feature four-player co-op for the first time in the series. Fully controllable mech suit, called silverbacks, will be available for use in certain parts of the game, armed with a machine gun and rocket launcher. 1923 Leica 0-Series Camera Fetches $1.89 Million At Auction Posted: 30 May 2011 02:10 AM PDT If you are looking for a new camera and have a few dollars to spare you could have bid on this 1923 Leica 0-Series camera which recently became the worlds most expensive camera fetching a staggering $1.89 million at auction in Vienna’s WestLicht gallery. The opening bid in the auction was 200,000 EUR, and the Leica 0-Series camera had an estimated price of 350,000-450,000 EUR. After a nailbiting, 20-minute bidding process the purchaser was a private collector from Asia who would prefer to remain anonymous. Android Making Microsoft More Money Than Windows Phone 7 Posted: 30 May 2011 01:35 AM PDT It looks like Google’s Android OS is actually making Microsoft more money than its own Windows Phone 7 OS, according to a recent report, and the reason for this is that smartphone maker HTC has been paying Microsoft a fee for every Android device it makes. Microsoft and HTC agreed on a patent settlement a while back, and HTC agreed to pay Microsoft $5 for every Android device it produced, as Microsoft claimed that Android infringes on its patents. Last week Samsung were ordered by a court to show Apple their yet to be released smartphones and tablets. Now it looks like Samsung want to see Apple’s new tablet and smartphone, the iPad 3 and the iPhone 4, as they have filed a motion asking for Apple to hand over the devices to Samsung as part of the discovery.
