| OfficeMax document leaks hinting at 4G and 3G TouchPad versions Posted: 30 May 2011 09:00 AM PDT The last time I talked about the HP TouchPad tablet that is coming soon was a week or so back. The tablet is tipped to hit Wal-Mart in June for $599 making it quite expensive. A new document turned up today from a leak that points to OfficeMax getting the TouchPad in July. The expected launch date is in June and OfficeMax is typically behind the schedule on new products so June could still be the official launch. However a brief 45 second teaser has been leaked on to the Internet and show a snippet of the story line. StarCraft 2 Heart Of The Swarm is the second part of the StarCraft 2 trilogy, with the third being Legacy of the Void. | Samsung To Launch 4G Tablet This Year Posted: 30 May 2011 03:36 AM PDT According to Samsung’s president of their mobile division, JK Shin, the company plans to launch a 4G tablet later this year, although we don’t know if it will be a 4G version of one of Samsung’s new tablets that have already been announced, like the Galaxy Tab 10.1 or a completely new tablet. He also mentioned that we can expect to see the new Samsung Galaxy S III in the first half of 2012, so probably some time around April in 2012 as that would be one year on from the launch of the new Galaxy S II which was introduced recently.

Gears of War 3 will feature four-player co-op for the first time in the series. | 12 Megapixel HTC Windows Phone 7 Smartphone Leaked Posted: 30 May 2011 03:13 AM PDT It looks like HTC will be launching a new Windows Phone 7 smartphone with a 12 megapixel camera built in, the photos below were posted on Twitter by Eldar Murtzain. As you can see from the photos, the camera on this new Windows Phone 7 smartphone from HTC features a 12 megapixel resolution, unfortunately there are no other details about this mystery device.

| Posted: 30 May 2011 02:37 AM PDT As well as unveiling the new ultra thin Asus UX21 laptop and the new Asus Padfone, Asus has uveiled a new 7 inch tablet, which features a glasses free 3D display, the Asus Eee Pad Memo 3D. As with the other devices we don’t have any exact hardware specifications as yet, what we don know is that it will come with Android Honeycomb, and the 3D mode will only work in landscape mode.

| 1923 Leica 0-Series Camera Fetches $1.89 Million At Auction Posted: 30 May 2011 02:10 AM PDT If you are looking for a new camera and have a few dollars to spare you could have bid on this 1923 Leica 0-Series camera which recently became the worlds most expensive camera fetching a staggering $1.89 million at auction in Vienna’s WestLicht gallery. The opening bid in the auction was 200,000 EUR, and the Leica 0-Series camera had an estimated price of 350,000-450,000 EUR. After a nailbiting, 20-minute bidding process the purchaser was a private collector from Asia who would prefer to remain anonymous. | Windows Phone 7 Marketplace Hits 20,000 Apps Posted: 30 May 2011 01:56 AM PDT Whilst Microsoft and their Windows Phone 7 Marketplace have a long way to go to catch up with Apple’s iOS store and Google’s Android Marketplace, the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace has hit another milestone, it now have over 20,000 apps available to download. It took Microsoft 219 days to reach 20,000 apps in the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace, this compares to 215 days for Apple to reach 20,000 apps and 419 days for Google’s Android.

| Android Making Microsoft More Money Than Windows Phone 7 Posted: 30 May 2011 01:35 AM PDT It looks like Google’s Android OS is actually making Microsoft more money than its own Windows Phone 7 OS, according to a recent report, and the reason for this is that smartphone maker HTC has been paying Microsoft a fee for every Android device it makes. Microsoft and HTC agreed on a patent settlement a while back, and HTC agreed to pay Microsoft $5 for every Android device it produced, as Microsoft claimed that Android infringes on its patents.

| Asus Eee PC X101 MeeGo Netbook Unveiled Posted: 30 May 2011 12:41 AM PDT Last week we showed you a teaser photo of a new ultra portable netbook from Asus, and now we have some more details, it is called the Asus Eee PC X101, and it will come with MeeGo as its OS. The Asus Eee PC X101 features a 10 inch LCD display with a resolution of 1024 x 600 pixels, processing is provided by a 1.5GHz Intel Atom Oak Trail processor, and there is also Intel GMA 600 graphics.

| Apple To Uses Google Maps For iOS 5 Posted: 30 May 2011 12:28 AM PDT We heard a rumor a while back that Apple was working on its own mapping service in a hope to rival Google’s, Google Maps, which many people were expecting Apple to release with iOS 5. Now it looks like Apple will continue to use Google Maps for iOS, as according to a recent report, Apple has yet to finish its own mapping software, although it seems we may see some enhancements to the maps in iOS 5.

| Asus Padfone Poses For The Camera Posted: 30 May 2011 12:15 AM PDT Last week we heard about a new tablet and smartphone combination device from Asus, called the Asus Padfone, and now the guys over at PocketNow have managed to get their hands on some spy shots of this new hybrid device. As you can see from the photos is looks like the smartphone part of the Asus Padfone docks with the tablet to form one device, and it looks like the phone actually docks inside the tablet.

This hover car concept seems to belong to the same category, but fortunately the rendered illustration has enough suave to look convincing. See, the biggest hurdle in design is the look and engineering are both taken for granted. Lucky for 21-year old Yuhan Zhang, hovercraft technology is decades old.

| Samsung’s Lawyers Want To See The iPhone 5 And iPad 3 Posted: 29 May 2011 11:15 PM PDT Samsung and Apple are currently suing each other, with each part claiming that the other has infringed on their patents for mobile phones and tablets. Last week Samsung were ordered by a court to show Apple their yet to be released smartphones and tablets. Now it looks like Samsung want to see Apple’s new tablet and smartphone, the iPad 3 and the iPhone 4, as they have filed a motion asking for Apple to hand over the devices to Samsung as part of the discovery.

| OS X 10.6.8 Reveals OS X Lion Will Be Available From Mac App Store Posted: 29 May 2011 10:57 PM PDT We heard a rumor earlier in the month that Mac OS X Lion would be available to buy from Apple’s Mac App Store, and now it looks like this has been confirmed as details have appeared in the latest developer build of OS X, 10.6.8. The notes that came with OS X 10.6.8 featured the following, ‘Enhance the Mac App Store to get your Mac ready to upgrade to Mac OS X Lion’, which is a pretty good clue that it will be available from the Mac App Store.

| NVIDIA Previews Project Kal-El Quad Core Mobile Processor (Video) Posted: 29 May 2011 10:45 PM PDT The majority of new smartphones that re being released at the moment come with a dual core processor, NVIDIA announced a while back that they were working on a quad core mobile processor, and have now put together a video to show what we can expect from these new quad core chips. In the video below, we get an idea of what gaming will be like on tablets and smartphones powered by NVIDIA’s Project Kal-El processor, and it certainly looks impressive.
