Samsung Announces AF315 All In One 3D PC

Samsung has added a new all in one PC to its range with the launch of the Samsung AF315 All In One 3D PC, and it features a 32 inch Full High Definition display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

The Samsung AF315 features an ultra thin bezel, and it comes with an Intel Core i5 processor, has 4GB of RAM and an AMD Radeon HD6730M 1GB graphics card.

YouTube Celebrates Its 6th Birthday With Over 3 Billion Views A Day

This month YouTube celebrates its sixth birthday after being launched back in 2005 and will be celebrating even harder with the news that last weekend it passed the 3 billion views a day mark, a 50% increase over last year.

To put this in to some sort of perspective YouTube compares it to, " the equivalent of nearly half the world's population watching a YouTube video each day, or every U.S. resident watching at least nine videos a day." Wow.. I wonder what the bandwidth bill is for that sort of traffic would be?

AT&T LTE Arriving In 5 US Cities This Summer

AT&T has today announced that it will be rolling out its new LTE service across 5 US cities this summer and will be looking to add another 10 or more cities in the second half of 2011, which are yet to be named.

AT&T’s plan is to bring their LTE service to over 70 million Americans by the end of 2011 and is also planning to add an additional twenty 4G devices to its mobile portfolio before the year is out.

HTC Working On New Mango Windows Phone 7 Devices

HTC already has some Windows Phone 7 devices on the market, and it looks like they have a few more planned for later this year to coincide with the launch of the latest version of Microsoft’s mobile OS Windows Phone 7 Mango.

HTC’s CEO, Peter Chou recently told Reuters that the company is currently working on some new Windows Phone 7 devices for Windows Phone 7 Mango, although he didn’t give any details on the actual hardware specifications.

Sony’s S Series Notebooks Get Core i5 And i7 Processors

Sony has updated its Vaio S Series range of notebooks with Intel’s latest Core i5 and Core i7 processors, and it now also comes with an optional battery which Sony claims will give you up to a massive 15 hours of battery life.

The Sony Vaio S Serries features a 13.3 inch display, and  a choice of two Intel Core i5 processor and one Intel Core i7 processor, plus 4GB of RAM as standard with the option to upgrade to 8GB.

Samsung 950 Series 3D LED Monitor Now Shipping

Samsung have this week announced that their new fantastic looking 950 Series 3D LED monitors has now started shipping. The new innovatively shaped monitor was first showcased back in CES this year and features a 27 inch screen size with 1920 x 1080 pixels of native screen resolution.

The new monitors also come with Samsung Apps and Smart Hub installed and are equipped with Samsung’s Ultra Clear Panel technology. Together with full HD resolution, a 2Ms response time, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, D-SUB, HDMI, DisplayPort and DVI-DualLink connectivity.

LG Revolution Hits Verizon Tomorrow For $249.99

We heard a rumor recently that the new LG Revolution would be available on Verizon Wireless from tomorrow the 26th of May, and Verizon has just confirmed that it will start selling the LG Revolution from tomorrow.

Splitfish FragFX Shark Xbox 360 Controllers

If you are looking for an alterative method to control characters on your Xbox 360 or prefer a more computer based mouse based controller. Splitfish has just released its FragFX Shark 360 controller designed specifically for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console.

The FragFX Shark controls have been available for some time on the PC and PS3 console and have been designed to combine a mouse with a nun-chuck style controller, promising to provide PC players with the same control and superiority on the 360 as they are used to with PC gaming.

ElcomSoft Releases Commercial iOS Decryption Tool

Yesterday we heard that a team of Russian forensic experts had managed to crack the encryption on the iPhone 4, and now the same forensic experts behind Russian security firm ElcomSoft have released a set of tools for cracking the encryption on Apple’s iOS devices.

The software comes in two parts, a password breaker, and another part which is able to extract numbers used for the encryption keys for iOS devices, which is used to decrypt images on iOS devices,the software will apparently only be available for law enforcement and forensic agencies.

Asus Previews New Ultra Thin Netbook

We have already seen some teaser photos of a new tablet from Asus which they will be unveiling at Computex 2011, and now it looks like they will also be announcing a new ultra thin netbook.

Asus has put up a photo of this new ultra thin netbook on their site, and it looks like it will be part of their Eee PC netbook range, although they haven’t as yet given us any details on its specifications.

Google Invests $55 Million In Latest Wind Farm

We have heard about Google investing in green technology in the past, their latest investment is in a wind farm in the Mojave Desert in southern California, and the search giant has invested $55 million in the Alta Wind Energy Center.

This new winds farm will be capable of generating 1,550 megawatts (MW) of energy, which is enough to power around 450,000 homes, and it will be one of the largest wind farms in the US.

Acer Iconia Tab A100 Delay Due To Honeycomb App Issue?

Last week we reported that Acer was unable to reach its launch date for their Acer Iconia Tab A100 and needed to push back the launch into the second half of 2011. Acer didn’t announce why the launch date had been missed, but it was thought the delay was due to hardware.

However new information from a source close to Acer has now revealed that the problem and delays could be related to issues with the Android 3.0 Honeycomb operating system and its compatibility with 7-inch displays.

Cray XK6 $1 Million Supercomputer Breaks Petaflop Record

Cray has created a new supercomputer which has broken the current petaflop record and scales up to more than 50 petaflops of processing capability. The Cray XK6 is powered by Cray’s Gemini interconnect, AMD Opteron 6200 processors, and NVIDIA Tesla 20-Series GPUs and runs a custom built version of Linux.

The Opteron 6200 chips have 16 cores and there will be up to 96, together with96 graphics cards per cabinet. Just imagine what you could do with that sort of power in your home PC.

iPhone 3GS Will Not Get iOS 5?

We know that Apple is working on a major update to their mobile OS, which is expected to be iOS 5 and launch later this year, with the launch of the iPhone 5, and now it is possible that the iPhone 3GS will not be upgraded to iOS 5.

According to Eldair Murtzain, who is usually spot on when it comes to information on the iPhone and other mobile devices, the iPhone 3GS will not get updated to iOS 5.0 but the iPhone 4 will.

The new extension has been design to capture the body of any blog post on any site. Panasonic Launches New Camcorders

Some of our reader will remember the Sanyo range of Xacti camcorders, Panasonic bought Sanyo a while back and they have now launched a new range of camcorders which are based on the Sanyo Xacti ones.

As you will see from the photos below, they share the same design as the Xacti camcorders, although they have been given a new name and Panasonic branding.

Sony Ericsson’s Canadian Online Store Hacked, Customer Details Stolen

Sony is really going through the mill at the moment and their problems are mounting by the day, and today is no exception. Sony Ericsson’s Canadian Online Store has now fallen foul to hackers, who have been able to extract details of 2,000 Eshop customers from Sony’s Canadian online store. Sony has reported that e-mails, passwords and phone numbers of users were stolen.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 To Ship With Android 3.1 Honeycomb

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is due to go on sale next month, and now it looks like it may ship with Android 3.1 Honeycomb, which is the latest version of Google’s tablet OS instead of Android 3.0 Honeycomb.

When the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 was announced, the specifications included Android 3.0, but it looks Samsung has now updated its product page for the Galaxy Tab 10.1, and it now shows the OS as Android 3.1 Honeycomb.

HTC Reviewing Bootloader Policy For Android Smartphones

A while back Sony Ericsson announced that they would be providing an Android bootloader tool for many of their 2011 Android devices, and now it seems that HTC may go the same way, according to a recent posting on their Facebook page.

HTC have announced that they are reviewing the locked bootloader policy, after a number of HTC users made complaints to HTC, although this doesn’t confirm that they will actually reverse their policy on bootloader locking, you can see their statement below.

Zynga Getting Ready To File An IPO?

It looks like Zynga is getting ready to file its initial public offering (IPO), according to a recent report by All Things Digital, and it is expected to file with the Securities and Exchange Commission some time this week or next week.

Zynga was recently valued at around $10 billion when it received its last round of funding, although its price is expected to be higher when the IPO launches, and Zynga are obviously hoping to see the same sort of success as the recent Linked In filing.

BT And Everything Everywhere Testing 4G LTE In The UK

It looks like 4G LTE may be headed to the UK in the not too distant future as BT and Everything Everywhere have announced that they will start trialling 4G LTE in the UK later this year.

The Trials will start in Cornwall in September 2011, and they will first be testing it out in St Newlyn in South Newquay and 200 mobile phone and landline customers will be part of the trial for both 4G handsets and also 4G dongles.

Nokia Oro Gold Plated Symbian Mobile Phone Announced

Nokia has added another mobile phone to their range with the launch of the Nokia Oro, which they describe as a ‘premium brand’, the Oro comes with 18 carat gold plating, a sapphire crystal and leather.

The Nokia Oro runs Symbian OS, and features pentaband radio connectivity, up-to HSDPA 3G and WiFi, there is also a 3.5 inch AMOLED display, plus an 8 megapixel camera which can record HD video in 720p.

Nokia’s First Windows Phone 7 Devices Will Come With Mango

Back in February Nokia announced a partnership with Microsoft, which would see Nokia switch their main mobile OS to Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7. yesterday Microsoft announced details of their next major update for Windows Phone 7, which is called Mango.

Apple Purchases 200 Freescale Patents

Apple has added a new range of patents to its portfolio, this time it has purchased 200 patents and patent pending applications from Freescale Semiconductor Inc, and the majority of the patents are related to wireless communication technology.

Some of the patents that Apple now owns originally belonged to Motorola, and Freescale started life as a division or Motorola and was spun off into a separate company in 2003.

Bluestacks Will Bring Android Apps To PCs

Bluestacks is a company that has developed software that will let you run Android applications on a PC, and they will shortly be announcing partnerships with a range of OEM manufacturers.

Apple Announces Mac OS X Update To Remove Mac Defender Malware

Apple has announced that they will be releasing a software update to Mac OS X that will deal with the recent Mac Defender malicious software that has affected a number of Mac users.

The Mac Defender malware has been targeting Mac users, and when they visit an infected website they are told that their computer is infected with a virus and urged to download the Mac Defender antivirus software which is actually malware, once installed the software steals users credit card details.

To reinforce his point, 25 forward moving robots with signs stuck to them (see below) were left in Stockholm and Uppsala. The stunt was also supposed to be part of the Voltfestival. NZXT Avatar S Gaming Mouse Announced

NZXT has added another new gaming mouse to their range, with the launch of the NZXT Avatar S, which is the follow up to the original Avatar gaming mouse, and it is designed to offer precise control and comes with a range of features.

The Avatar S features an adjustable DPI which include setting for 400DPI, 800DPi and 1600DPI, and it features 5 different programmable media keys, which can be programmed with a range of macro’s.

Kindle 3G Getting Ad-Supported Version As Well

What’s good for the goose is apparently good or the 3G flavour of Kindle, as the ad-supported “Kindle with Special Offers” has been selling like high temperature pastry goods despite the general consensus in the tech industry that the $25 savings don’t warrant the sustained advertising intrusion on your leisure time. Amazon, for its part,  sees no reason why the other model shouldn’t get some of that consumer love and we have to admit $164 for unlimited 3G access to any novel on the planet would seem mighty tempting, especially for people who have been saving up for the higher price point.

Minecraft Heading Exclusively To Xperia Play

Minecraft developer Mojang has announced that their indie hit is coming to Android via the medium’s most decidedly gamer-oriented phone, the Xperia Play. While just the news that it’s heading to mobile at all should be pretty exhilarating for fans, especially since it’s already had a mobile outing on the App Store before getting speedily pulled some time ago, exclusives usually make for sad panda Android users, especially with games of this caliber.

PlayStation Store Not Going Online Today

Despite previous optimistic reports, it seems like the May 24 date previously announced by Sony as PS Store grand reopening day, albeit tentatively, is nothing of the sort. The good news is that we may be able to see the service return by the end of the month, but this time Sony isn’t offering anything in the way of a solid date, which judging by recent history seems like a smart move.

HTC ChaCha Facebook Phone Coming To The UK in June

We knew it was coming soon, but this is the first we’ve heard of a solid release date and a chance to pre-order it. June 26 to be precise, at least according to the thing’s tell-all Amazon page. Clove, however, say the Android phone is heading to the UK on June 6. Neither report is confirmed, so we’d hold off on pre-ordering for now.
