A new option has surfaced that is worth a look thanks to the fact that it will keep your iPad 2 in place with multiple mount types. The product is from a company called MountMe and is the Freedom II. The mounting device is a clip on case style and it has four suction cups on the back for mounting it to smooth surfaces. It also has a flap that kicks back to allow it to stand up on a desk. Microsoft Samsung SUR40 Surface Arriving In September (video) Posted: 27 May 2011 06:23 AM PDT Microsoft has today been demonstrating its new Samsung SUR40 in Singapore, and announced that the new Microsoft second-generation Surface device will start shipping late September in the Singapore market for around $8,600. The SUR40 was first showcased back in CES 2011 and is a fully-embedded PC with a high definition 40-inch wide, 4-inch thick touch-screen, and has been designed to target specific industries such as retail, hospitality, auto-mobile, healthcare and financial.

80 Percent Of Paid Android Apps Are Downloaded Less Than 100 Times Posted: 27 May 2011 05:33 AM PDT Research firm Distimo has been looking into app downloads on Google’s Android Market, and has come up with some interesting figures. According to the research, 80 percent of all paid Android apps have been downloaded 100 times or less. This compares to just 25 percent of free Android apps that have been downloaded 100 times or less, they also noted that only 96 Android applications have been downloaded more than five million times, with Google Maps being the top one with a total of 50 million downloads. Lodsys Going After Android Developers For In App Purchases Posted: 27 May 2011 04:58 AM PDT Recently a company called Lodsys went after individual application developers on Apple’s iOS platform, and the company claimed that the developers were infringing on their patents by using in App purchases. Earlier this week we got our first official news from Apple on the subject, who basically told Lodsys that they were responsible for in app purchases on iOS apps and not the developers, and it looks like Apple are standing behind their developers.

The new iChromy browser creates a similar feel to Google’s Chrome browser but on your iPad. Enabling you to very easily open, switch and close tabs, type search keywords or URLs directly into one main box. Together with a neat feature that provides a little more screen real-estate by hiding the address bar when you scroll down the page.

Apple Testing A5 (ARM) Powered MacBook Air? Posted: 27 May 2011 03:44 AM PDT We heard a rumor a while back that Apple maybe be switching from Intel to ARM for its MacBook processors, and now the rumor has surfaced again, this time it is reported that Apple is testing a MacBook Air with an a5 processor, the same processor that is currently found in the iPad 2. The news comes from Macotakara who gave us some previous details on the iPad 2 before it was released, and Apple apparently have a test MacBook Air, with an A5 chip.

Gmail Launches New ‘People Widget’ To Organise Your Contacts Posted: 27 May 2011 01:19 AM PDT Over the next couple of weeks Google will be rolling out a new ‘People Widget’ for Gmail which has been designed to help organise the content you share with your contacts. Once rolled out to your account it will appear on the right-hand side of your Gmail page and display messages, phone calls, and chats you have had with your contacts. The new widget doesn’t require you to install a new plugin or do anything, it will just start appearing for Gmail users over the next couple of weeks.
