Facebook Rolls Photo Sync out to All Users

Facebook has been testing a new photo synchronization feature for the last three months. The feature is called Facebook Photo Sync and with testing complete Facebook is now rolling the service out to all users. The feature allows users to automatically upload photos taken with their smart phone to the Facebook website into a private folder.

Mitsubishi Abandons Rear Projection TV Segment

In years past, there were other names in the market including Sony and Samsung, but those two companies long ago abandoned rear projection TV fans. The lone holdout for all these years has been Mitsubishi offering a full line of big-screen rear projection TVs.

Rumor: Xbox 720 Processor Clocked At 1.6GHz

Rumors suggest that the next generation Xbox will run on a processor that clocks in at 1.6GHz. That is half of what the current generation Xbox 360 has. The information comes from a well-known gaming figure, Hector Martin (aka "marcan"). This information was revealed after the disappointing 1.2GHz clock speed in the recently released Nintendo Wii U.

Worlds Most Expensive Lego Brick Sold For $14,500

True Lego fans might have already seen the world’s most expensive Lego brick, which was given out to selected business partners and LEGO employees between 1979-81 after they had worked for Lego for 25 years.

The gold Lego brick is crafted from 14-carat gold and weighs 25.6g, and recently fetched $14,449 over on the Brick Envy website, which specialises in collector LEGO sets and pieces.

Samsung Galaxy S III In Canada Gets Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update

It looks like Samsung is continuing their roll out of the Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean update for the Samsung Galaxy S III, as a number of owners of the device in Canada have reported receiving the update.

The updated has been released as an OTA update on a number of the carriers in Canada and is also available through Samsung’s KIES software updating tool.

Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy Note II Gets Rooted

The Samsung Galaxy Note II landed on Verizon Wireless last week, and now it would appear that the handset has already been rooted by the guys from the XDA Developers forum.

The Samsung Galaxy Note comes with the latest version of Google's Android OS, Android 4.1 Jelly bean and the handset features  5.5 inch HD Super AMOLED multi-touch display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.

Microsoft Bing Maps Updated With 121TB Of Global Satellite Images

Last week Microsoft announced that they have no added over 121 TB of satellite and global ortho imagery to their new Windows 8 maps application and Bing maps service.

Microsoft has also created a Facebook page where it will post detailed images of the world on a daily basis, by each week focusing on a theme to portray the imagery Microsoft  have acquired for their Bing mapping service.

Apple To Launch iTunes In Russia This Week (Rumor)

According to a recent report by TechCrunch, Apple is getting ready to launch their iTunes music service in Russia, the guys over at TechCrunch have received a copy of an email sent out by Apple PR in Russia.

The email is inviting people to a special iTunes event which is being held in Moscow tomorrow the 4th of December, although there has not been any confirmation as yet that iTunes will be launching in Russia.

Microsoft Says App Downloads And Developer Revenue Up 100 Percent Since WP8 Launch

Microsoft has announced on Twitter that since the release of their new Windows Phone 8 platform, the number of applications downloads from their Windows Phone store has increased by 100 percent.

Microsoft also announced that their developer revenue has also increased by 100 percent since the launch of Windows Phone 8, although they did not give an specific details about revenue paid to developers or the total number of downloads.

The Daily iPad Only News App To Be Shut Down

Some of our readers will remember The Daily, an iPad only news app that was launched by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp, well News Corp have decided to shut down The Daily, and the subscription based application will close on the 15th of December.

We heard in May 2011, that The Daily lost $10 million in its first quarter, and it looks like things have not improved for The Daily, as it will now be shut down later this month.

It looks like Apple is hoping to take n Samsung in their home country with the iPhone 5, as Apple has just announced that the iPhone 5 will go on sale in South Korea on the 7th of December.

Apple Takes Number Two Spot In US Mobile Share

According to a recent report from comScore Apple is now in second place for the US mobile phone share, Samsung is still in first place with a 26.3 percent of the mobile phone market.

In the previous quarter LG was ahead of Apple, and now they have dropped into third place with a 17.6 percent share, Apple now has a 27.8 percent share of the US mobile phone market.

Pixar’s Lamp Recreated Using Arduino Technology (video)

Raspberry Pi Model A $25 Computers Rolls Off The Production Line

The Raspberry Pi Foundation has this week announced that their new manufacturing plant based in Pencoed, Wales in the UK, has seen its first Raspberry Pi Model A system samples roll off its new production line.

The Raspberry Pi Model B has been available for some time at around $35, but the systems developers always wanted to try and create and even cheaper system, and the Raspberry Pi Model A is the first, priced at just $25.

Apple New iMac 2012 Taken Apart By iFixit

Windows Phone 7.8 Running On Nokia Lumia 900 (Video)

Some Of Apple’s New iMacs Made In The US

The majority of Apple’s products are made in China by manufacturing partners like Foxconn, but now it would appear that some of Apple’s new iMacs, which launched last week are actually made in the US.

On Friday we saw a teardown of Apple’s new 21.5 inch iMac, and this has revealed that some of these models are actually made in the US, as the casing on some of the devices is labelled with ‘Assembled in USA’.

Acer has this week taken the wraps off a new edition to their range of notebook devices with the unveiling of the new Acer TravelMate B113 notebook, which Acer says has been designed to provide the perfect everyday learning companion for students.

As you would expect with any new PC notebooks launched after Microsoft’s Windows 8 official launch, it comes equipped with Microsoft Windows 8 Professional, together with a copy of Microsoft’s Windows 7 operating system.

Microsoft Adding Direct Media Playback To SkyDrive?

$99 Asus Nexus 7 Tablet Turns Up In Benchmarks

We have been hearing rumors for a while that Google would launch an even cheaper version of their Google Nexus 7 tablet which is rumored to retail for just $99, although these rumors died off when the new updated Nexus 7 tablets were introduced recently.

Now it would appear that Google may have a $99 Nexus 7 tablet in the works, as a new, yet to be announced Nexus 7 tablet has appeared in the GLbench benchmarks, and the device features Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean.

HTC Windows Phone 8S Not Coming To The US

When HTC announced its new Windows Phone 8 smartphones, the HTC Windows Phone 8X and the HTC Windows Phone 8S, we thought that both handset would be available in the US as well as Europe.

Now it would appear that HTC does not plan to launch the cheaper HTC Windows Phone 8S in the US, you can see an official statement from HTC below.

Samsung recently started rolling out the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update to some of their recent Android tablets, and now one of their older tablets has received an Android update as well, although this is the Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich update.

HTC One VX Lands On AT&T 7th December

HTC & AT&T announced a new Android smartphone recently, the HTC One VX, which we had previously heard would be available from AT&T in November, and now it would appear that the handset will launch on AT&T on the 7th of December.

The HTC One VX comes with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and HTC Sense 4, it features a 4.5 inch qHD display with a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels, and the device comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.
