Dead Rising 3 Will Not be on the Xbox 360 Posted: 29 Sep 2013 11:28 AM PDT Dead Rising is one of Xbox's premier exclusive franchises, especially since the zombie craze is still going strong. Its next installment's release date is set for this fall, but it will not be coming out on the 360. Larry Hyrb, aka Major Nelson, stated on Twitter that any rumors saying Dead Rising 3 is releasing for the 360 are false. It'll release on November 22nd exclusively for the Xbox One alongside the new system. The game's producer from Capcom said that they initially started developing the game for the 360, but the system simply couldn't handle everything they wanted to do. Apparently the gameworld is going to be larger than the first two games combined! Microsoft Buying iPhones for $200 Posted: 29 Sep 2013 11:26 AM PDT Microsoft is now buying iPhones in exchange for a $200 gift card for the Microsoft Store. It's a limited time promotion that started on September 27th and will end on November 3rd. Anyone looking to get rid of an iPhone 4s or 5 can get a nice chunk of change towards a Microsoft device of their choice. You can only trade one iPhone per person, and it must come with the power cord and not be password protected. You also have to trade it in a Microsoft retail store; the deal is not available online. It couples nicely with Microsoft's current iPad purchase promotion that's giving the same reward for second, third and fourth generation iPads. That promotion ends on October 27th. Posted: 29 Sep 2013 11:23 AM PDT Don't hold your breath if you're waiting for the next installment of EA's NCAA games, there isn't going to be one. The NCAA has decided not to renew its contract with Electronic Arts, i.e. EA, due to various litigation issues, one of which is with the Collegiate Licensing Company who sued the EA and the NCAA. EA has settled its side of all legal issues, which included a $40 million settlement with the CLC. The money is going to go to the former college athletes EA made money off of, but as of this moment the CLC isn't quite sure how to distribute the funds. Apparently 100,000+ players will receive a cut of the profits, meaning their likely to get less than $400 each.

Orbital Sciences Sends Own Ship to ISS Posted: 29 Sep 2013 11:17 AM PDT There is a space race going on in the commercial sector. Private space companies are racing to see who can be the first to bring space travel to the general public. Orbital Sciences completed what NASA is calling a "historical milestone" by being only the second private space travel company to successfully send a ship to the International Space Station, aka ISS. The spacecraft, known as Cygnus, was an unmanned ship filled with 1,300 pounds of supplies. In a few weeks the spacecraft will depart from the ISS and self-destruct. Because of this success, NASa has committed to spending $1.9 billion on Orbital projects over the next few years. Blackberry Reports a Loss of $965 Million in Q2 Fiscal Results Posted: 29 Sep 2013 03:13 AM PDT It's a known fact that Blackberry is going through tough times. Posted: 28 Sep 2013 07:55 PM PDT As next-gen console release dates draw near, the competitive race between Microsoft and Sony heats up. Microsoft took a major hit with the whole 'pay to play used games' and 'always online requirement' shenanigans, so it's decided to take a page out of politics (and practically every artist ever to exist) and go on tour. Starting October 1st The One Tour kicks off. The Xbox One and its various launch titles will be available to play in major cities around the world until it launches on November 22nd. The events will be coupled with live music and all the other party accoutrements you can think of. The tour will stop off in twenty U.S. states, four major Canadian cities, and thirteen major cities in Europe. It also plans on being at Paris Games Week, Milan Games Week, and Mardrid Games Week. Delta Airline Pilots Might Get Surface 2 Posted: 28 Sep 2013 07:50 PM PDT They may not have them yet, but the rumor mill is saying that Delta Airlines is planning to give all of its pilots Microsoft Surface 2 tablets with Windows 8.1. The reason for the tablet disbursement would be to give pilots an advanced tool for their trade, like when Delta and a couple other airlines gave their pilots iPads in 2011. The rumor follows along with Delta's announcement last month, when it said it would be giving its flight attendants Nokia Lumia 820s in order to simplify the drink and meal ordering system during flights. So far Delta has refused to speak on whether or not the rumor is true, saying "we're always evaluating opportunities to enhance the use of technology across our business." Unfortunately, it seems to be selling a bit too fast. Playstation Network users have reported various issues when trying to download GTA V. Sony has not only apologized for the issue, but it's said that players can expect to have an easier time downloading games with the PS4. To be exact, Sony's Playstation UK head Fergal Gara said that they've focused on the digital delivery system extensively and that while "it's not perfect", it's not as bad as their current system. Stanford Researchers Show-Off New Linear Accelerator Posted: 28 Sep 2013 07:41 PM PDT Scientists and technological researchers get paid billions each year to produce technological advances like the new linear accelerator Stanford researchers recently unveiled. The device is small enough to rest on a fingertip and ten times more powerful than linear accelerators that are in use today. The new linear accelerator showcased by Stanford flips the script entirely. Instead of using microwaves, it uses laser light and a prism to boost the speed of electrons and create more energy. The technology still has quite a ways to go before being put to practical use, but it could lead to a number of medical technology advancements that could save lives in the future. These are people who are extremely good at remembering faces. Whether or not such people exist is still a hotly debated issue, but the Yard has decided to employee these people after some positive results were published in various per-review journals around the world giving credence to the idea. The Yard plans to use these people to spot suspects in crowds and on surveillance feeds.
