T-Mobile Annoucned iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C Pricing Posted: 14 Sep 2013 07:43 AM PDT Apple unveiled the much-awaited iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S, which will hit the shelves in many countries starting September 20th. The pre-orders for iPhone 5C begin yesterday, however, Apple is not taking pre-orders for iPhone 5S and users have to buy them on launch day.. Both devices will be available on major US carriers including AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon and Sprint. On most carriers, iPhone 5C 16GB costs $99 with a two-year contract while iPhone 5S 16GB will be available for $199 on-contract. Wind Mobile Adds Sony Xperia ZL and Blackberry Q5 To Its Product Line Up Posted: 14 Sep 2013 07:07 AM PDT WIND Mobile added a number of handsets to its product portfolio including Blackberry Q5 and Sony Xperia ZL. The Blackberry OS 10 powered Q5 is available for $99 on WINDTab on $40 and would cost $399 if bought outright. On the other hand, Sony Xperia ZL costs $329 on WINDTab on $40 and $629 if you decide to purchase it off-contract. The devices are only available in stores and cannot be purchased online. Recently, an XDA-Developers Forum member Justin Case released a tool – MotoRoot – that can be used to root Moto X, Droid Mini, Droid Ultra and Droid Maxx. It is also recommended not to use this tool on any other Android device that isn't Motorola. These are only for Moto X and the Droid lineup, and may cause problems if you use it on any other device. HTC America Laid Off Almost 20 Percent of its Workforce Posted: 14 Sep 2013 05:03 AM PDT A new report from The Verge claims that HTC has laid off about 20 percent of its work force from its America division earlier this week. The American division has a workforce of 150 employees, but the Verge is saying that the company may have laid off about 30 employees, which amounts to almost 20 percent of the workforce. The company confirmed about the layoffs, but didn't comment any further about the number of employees who lost their job. HTC One Max Poses For The Camera, Shows Off A Fingerprint Scanner Posted: 14 Sep 2013 12:30 AM PDT We have heard rumors about HTC upcoming phablet known as HTC One Max. HTC One Max posed for the camera several times in the past few weeks, showing us a fingerprint scanner at the back along with other specifications the device is expected to bring at the table. While we don't know how the fingerprint scanner will be used, it looks like HTC will be following Apple's footsteps who revealed a new Touch ID sensor in their latest iPhone 5S. Now, HTC One Max poses for the camera yet again. The leaked image doesn't show us anything new, but they do give us a rough idea of the size of the phablet, along with the presence of a fingerprint scanner on the back.
