Meizu Says Current Exynos 5 Octa Chips Will Get HMP to Use All Eight Cores Posted: 12 Sep 2013 03:17 AM PDT Recently, Samsung announced that Exynos 5 Octa processor will be able to use all eight cores at once by the end of this year, thanks to the new Heterogeneous Multi-Processing technology. The Korean giant didn't mention whether this new technology require any hardware improvement or software update. Everyone was just talking about whether the current generation chips will get this feature or not. Now, Meizu posted some good news for the users. The manufacturer uses Exynos 5 Octa (5410) in its Meizu MX3, and confirmed in a blog post that the current generation chips can be upgraded with HMP to utilize all eight cores at the same time.
